Arsenal’s move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is under threat due to Borussia Dortmund’s substantial asking price of £61m, reports say.

Aubameyang has told the German outfit he wants to join the Gunners, but Dortmund have no plans to sell their top goal scorer the cheap.

The striker is just one of at least three expected signings this summer following the arrival of Kostas Mavrapanos and the proposed move for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Aubameyang has earned the reputation of a maverick during his stint in Germany. The Gabon international was dropped by Dortmund following his latest disciplinary issue.

The 28-year-old skipped a team meeting ahead of the Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg, and was subsequently banished by coach Peter Stoger due to a lack of focus.

However, Aubameyang has established himself as one of Europe’s most sought after strikers. He’s netted 13 goals in 15 Bundesliga games so far.

Whether the Gunners choose to match Dortmund’s offer remains to be seen – if so, it would see Arsenal smash their current record transfer fee of £47m for Alexandre Lacazette.
