Arsenal saw plenty of movement in the summer transfer window but there was the possibility of further deals going ahead, both as incoming and outgoing pieces of business.

The Gunners were particularly active late in the transfer window, where the stand-out deal was the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool on Deadline Day.

It has emerged that many other deals were discussed before the transfer deadline and there’s been plenty of talk regarding a move for Jack Wilshere, who it seems was extremely close to sealing a move to Turkey late in the window.

With Fenerbache also widely reported to be interested in the England international, Trabzonspor coach Muharrem Usta told Turkish-Football he held direct talks with Arsenal’s academy graduate.

“I held direct talks with Jack Wilshere. We wanted him on loan and were close to a deal but the move stalled at the last moment.”

Wilshere is battling to return to fitness after a leg break ended his loan stint with Bournemouth last season prematurely but he’s in-line to feature in the coming weeks, most likely against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup.
