Arsenal’s battle to keep hold of star-man Alexis Sanchez is heating up as reports indicate a director from a European giant has flown to London in an attempt to negotiate a deal.

The Sun, quoting reports from French media, state Paris Saint-Germain have flown sporting director Antero Henrique to the capital as they try to wrap-up a deal for Arsenal’s contract rebel Alexis Sanchez, who faces an uncertain future in North London.

Arsenal insist their Player of the Year won’t be sold but the Gunners risk losing the two-time Copa America winner for nothing in 12 months time as Alexis has already entered the final year of his contract, with little progress made towards an extension.

Should the 28-year-old be sold, Arsenal would prefer to see Alexis Sanchez move abroad rather than to a Premier League rival and that gives Paris Saint-Germain a boost in their quest to land the South American ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Arsenal are standing firm on their demands though and will claim a huge fee for Alexis’ services if he does leave, which could in-turn fund a move for Monaco ace Thomas Lemar.
