Spanish champions, Barcelona, have renewed their interest in right-back Hector Bellerin, making him their top transfer target, as they search for a long-term replacement for the departed Dani Alves, according to Sport.

The 21-year-old was reportedly a target for the Catalan side earlier in the summer, when their sporting director, Robert Fernandez, spoke to the Spain international about the possibility of a return to his former club.

Sport’s report claims that the powers that be at the Nou Camp are keen to arrange a deal for the former La Masia man, as they believe they have a time-frame of a few weeks to convince him to snub the new contract the Arsene Wenger is desperate to tie him down to.

Since joining us from Spain, Bellerin has made 79 appearances, winning an FA Cup and a Community Shield and has developed into arguably the best right-back in the Premier League.

Barca boss, Luis Enrique, is desperate to bring him back to La Liga as they reportedly feel that Alex Vidal is not a suitable replacement for Dani Alves, who joined Italian champions Juventus over the summer.
