Arsenal suffered another defeat on the road after going down 1-0 at Everton on Sunday.

Unai Emery left both Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the bench ahead of the Gunners’ Europa League tie with Napoli. However, the 11 men that included Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette failed to deliver for the travelling fans who watched their side suffer a sixth defeat on the road this season.

The Gunners missed the opportunity to rise to third thanks to Phil Jagielka’s early strike.

The result means Emery’s side could drop out of the top four on Monday as rivals Chelsea, who are level on points with the Gunners, face West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

It’s incredibly tight in the race for Champions League football

It was a frustrating day for Gooners. Ozil endured another quiet outing on the road, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lacazette frustrated throughout.

Fortunately, the top four goal is still in Arsenal’s hands.
