Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has placed Merih Demiral on his January shopping list, reports claim.
The Juventus centre-half has been linked with a move to Arsenal this winter, but there have been no recent developments in the chase.
Demiral only joined Juventus from Sassuolo in the summer. The deal was worth €18 million (£15.5m), according to Calciomercato.
The same source suggests that Juventus want €40 million (£34.1m) if they are to consider selling the 21-year-old this month with a host of clubs across Europe, including Arsenal, said to be keen on the player.
Fortunately for the north Londoners, Ancelotti could be prevented from signing Demiral after being told by the Everton owners that they must sell first before buying – with funds limited at Goodison Park.
Arsenal have also enquired to Bayern Munich over the availability of Jerome Boateng.
With funds also tight at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta may have to settle for an initial loan deal this month.
