Olivier Giroud has fired back at Karim Benzema after the Frenchman compared himself to a Formula 1 car and Giroud to a Go Kart.

The two strikers are now feuding following Benzema’s live Q&A on Instagram led to the Real Madrid ace to say, “you can’t confuse an F1 car with a go-kart and I’m being kind.”

Benzema, 32, has not played for France since 2015 following the blackmailing of a teammate over a sex tape.

Meanwhile Giroud won the World Cup with France in 2018 and started the most recent European qualifying win over Albania in November.

But the insulted Chelsea forward told Befoot (via The Sun): “People say you cannot compare a Formula One car with a go kart and the only thing I can say on the matter is that I’m a world champion, so that isn’t bad for a go kart.”

The last time Benzema and Giroud represented their country together was 2015

Benzema defended his comments and dragged Brazil legend Ronaldo into the argument by insisting if he was to compare himself to the Juventus forward, then he would be the go kart.

He said: “They only focused on that, on what I said about Formula 1 and karting, but it’s what I think and it’s the truth.

“Look, if I was asked about Ronaldo Nazario, then he would be the Formula 1 and I would be the kart. Short and simple.”

Despite often seeing other strikers start ahead of him in the Premier League, Giroud is consistently picked for France to lead the line with Antoine Griezmann.

He is trusted as France’s main man up front, with 97 appearances and 39 goals.
