Former Arsenal forward Kaylen Hinds has been sacked by Wolfsburg after an authorised absence from the club.

The 20 year-old has reportedly been awol for several weeks, having initially told the club that he had lost his passport.

The Bundesliga side have now terminated Hinds’ contract and he is currently a free agent.

Hinds represented England at youth level, but failed to make a first-team appearance for Arsenal after signing in 2015. The striker arrived at Wolfsburg on a three-year contract in 2017.

A statement from the German club said: “Wolfsburg has parted with Kaylen Hinds,” reported the Mirror. “The club has reacted to the forward’s unauthorised absence of several weeks by terminating his contract with immediate effect. There is no longer a valid contract of employment between Hinds and VfL.”

And the club’s sporting director Jorg Shcmadtke has reiterated the club’s stance on the situation.

“Despite repeated requests, he has not fulfilled his contractual obligations,” Schmadtke said. “We do not tolerate such behaviour.”
