Joe Willock has been made a surprise inclusion in former Premier League forward Kevin Nolan’s combined Liverpool XI.

The Reds host Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League at 5.30pm on Saturday.

Willock, who turned 20 on Tuesday has started in both of Arsenal’s opening league games this season. The youngster has made just six Premier League appearances in total, but former Bolton and West Ham star Nolan rates the midfielder better than the likes of Fabinho, Nabi Keita and Jordan Henderson.

Ahead of the match Sky Sports pundit Nolan was asked to select an XI from both Jurgen Klopp and Unai Emery’s squads.

Eyebrows may also be raised over the inclusion of Dani Ceballos in the centre of the park.

Liverpool’s defence with Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right, Andy Robertson on the left and Virgil van Dijk in the middle with Joel Matip take up every position in the backline.

Nolan has also gone for an all Liverpool attacking midfield trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Bernd Leno has also been picked over Alisson Becker, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the preferred option up front.
