Aaron Ramsey is still yet to agree a new deal with Arsenal.

Despite suggestions that the midfielder is keen to get a deal over the line, Arsenal fans will continue to sweat until the Welshman has officially signed on the dotted line.

Ramsey has entered the final year of his current deal and will leave for free next summer should he fail to agree to a longer stay.

And former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes that midfielder wants a guarantee over his position in the team before signing a new contract.

Whether an agreement can be reached with Ramsey between now and June does remain to be seen, but Jenas is of the opinion that the issue has nothing to do with money.

“For their sake, they need to go down that road because the Aaron Ramsey situation didn’t work,” he told BT Sport (via Football.london). “I think he wants to play higher up the pitch and I get the feeling it was more Ramsey’s decision than Emery’s.

Ramsey, 27, is fast approaching 250 Premier League games for Arsenal and has scored 36 so far.
