Just over twenty minutes into Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Stoke on Saturday and Gunners fans were given reason for worry as summer signing Shkodran Mustafi hobbled off.

The German looked to sustain a hamstring injury and was replaced by Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin, whose return is at least a silver lining in this.

The former Everton youngster Mustafi has excelled since arriving in north London from Valencia over the summer, and is yet to lose in an Arsenal shirt.

The 24-year-old was yet to make his debut when Liverpool were 4-3 winners at The Emirates on the opening day of the season and was also one of the ten changes made when Southampton were the victors in the EFL Cup quarter final at the end of November.

He has formed a solid partnership with France international Laurent Koscielny, who also boasts a personal undefeated record this season, but may now face a spell on the sidelines. The news has not settled well with Gunners fans on social media…
