Shkodran Mustafi’s dad Kujtim is adamant his son is going nowhere despite exit talk.
Unai Emery is keen to get rid of the German centre-back, who made a number of high-profile mistakes last season.
But Mustafi, 27, is desperate to stay and his agent father has played down talk of a move after reports Roma were keen.
Speaking to Romanews he said: “It’s news to me. There’s nothing in it. There has been no contact with Roma or any other Italian club.”
Mustafi first arrived at the Arsenal in the summer of 2016 from Valencia, and since has made 112 appearances for the club. AS Monaco are suggested to be interested in the German’s services and a move could see the Gunners recoup around £27m of the £35m originally spent.
William Saliba has arrived as a potential replacement for Mustafi – but Arsenal fans won’t see much of him this season unless they tun into Ligue 1 football. The 18 year-old Frenchman was immediately loaned back to Saint Etienne.
