So Arsenal have their first Premier League victory of the new season at home at the second attempt with Arsene Wenger’s men having defeated Southampton by the skin of their teeth on Saturday afternoon.

Lifting the Gunners into sixth place in the early Premier League standings on seven points, the overall notion is that Arsenal are still far from their best so far this season.

A sentiment echoed by Arsene Wenger in his post-game comments, Gooners did get the chance to see both Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez in Arsenal shirts for the first time however.

Both actually starting the game against the Saints, Mustafi had more of an accomplished game while the consensus on Lucas is that he needs time to adjust but isn’t that the very nature of both roles?

Strikers will always be judged on their goals compared to defenders simply needing to keep things locked down and while Mustafi wasn’t faultless, it appears Lucas may need some time to adjust to the rigours of English football.

Still incredibly early days of course, Arsenal Mania are today listing the FIVE major takeaways from the weekend triumph over Claude Puel’s Southampton.
