So, yesterday was absolutely vile, as Harry Kane – something from every Arsenal fans’ nightmare – struck late to give Spurs, and I say this through gritted teeth, a deserved victory.

There was a lot of debate after the game surrounding Arsene Wenger’s choice of line-up as well as the substitutions he made. A lot of finger pointing and blame laid at certain player’s feet. Overall, it was a day to forget for all involved with the Gooners.

So, what can we take, if anything, from the game at White Hart Lane?

Tactically sad. Cazorla and Ozil? Playing so deep for the WHOLE game. Defending as a Plan B is fine as long as you don’t forget Plan A. Pathetic.

I think the most worrying thing for you is that you’ve become too reliant upon Sanchez. Without his individual ability to create something out of nothing, your team looked short on ideas going forward.

Basically it all boils down to the fact that Arsenal are not as good as they used to be, they are still capable of beating teams in the bottom half fairly easily and can turn on a quality performance now and again.
Under heavy pressure they cannot produce the accuracy that they used to be able to and during the match the defence and midfield, denied time, reverted to a hoof up the pitch.
It’s a fact nowadays that most of the players who can produce under pressure are with one of RM, Barc, Chelsea and ManC. plus a French and German team and even your expensive buys struggle to play well under pressure, although Sanchez should be allowed more time before judgement.

The real thing we learnt is that Totenham are on the upward swing. Let’s acknowledge that instead of magnifying our own failings. Remember they thrashed Chelsea in this same venue. And they just came away with an impressive away result before our match. It’s all very clear that keeping them at the distance may no longer be as straight forward as it used to be.
