Sylvain Wiltord, Arsenal’s forgotten man, could yet play a role in shaping Arsenal’s season. The striker, who hasn’t played since December, is aiming to be fit for Arsenal’s massive semi-final with Man Utd.

Wiltord famously scored against Man Utd to clinch the Premiership in 2001/2002, and scored again against United in the FA Cup last season.

Wiltord will be looking to have a similar impact on the game as in that previous FA Cup meeting between the two sides.

“My injury belongs to the past. My goal is to finish the season in style with Arsenal and to follow up with Euro 2004 if possible,” he said.

Although he said he hoped to play at Villa Park on Saturday he said Wednesday’s French midweek international friendly against the Netherlands in Rotterdam was “just a little too early”.

In related news, Arsenal will be wearing their traditional red and white kit at Villa park for the match.
