Former Arsenal loanee Julio Baptista is a target for Bolton Wanderers, The Sun claim.

The Brazilian who spent a season’s long loan at Arsenal in 2006/07 is set to sign for Phil Parkinson’s side as a free agent.

The attacking midfielder last appeared for Orlando City, but his contract option was declined by the MLS side in November.

Reports suggest that Bolton who have failed to win a single one of their five league games this season, are now considering a move for the 35 year-old to try and change their fortunes.

Baptista made 24 league appearances for Arsenal, but his most notable display was in Arsenal’s League Cup quarter-final clash with Liverpool. The Gunners ran out 6-3 winners in a game that saw the on-loan Real Madrid star score four at Anfield.
The man known as “The Beast” looks set to return to England with Bolton, though it will be a tough ask to resurrect the Trotters.
