We have to be the worst in England for getting good money for our players. Liverpool, Chelsea and Sp**s get top money for basically every player they sell. United have started getting good money.
Liverpool for example got £15m for Ibe, I doubt we'd get much more for Ox even though he's better in every area and has far more experience.

I've always thought United done well at getting good fees. Ronaldo, Beckham, Veron, Evans, Di Maria, Schneiderlin even players like O Shea in his 30s went for 3m after years of astute service.

But since Fabregas most of the fees we commanded have been joke. Specially for Fabregas him self who had something like 5 years left on his contract and was our captain.

Fabregas was crying for two years that he wants to go only to Barca, every month different player called him through media, last season it was apparent he doesnt want to be here anymore. We had no leverage whatsever. He practically blackmailed us to go to Barca. Most disgusting transfer out from Arsenal ever, at least Nasri and RVP made us decent fees and was done and dusted quickly.
Especially since he was most integral part of our team. He would have been our Iniesta. Karma is a ***** in the end.

I suppose Liverpool and other team bench players are on lower salaries and it is easier to shift them. We ussualy pay half of wages or less to the players on the loan, othervise they d be here forever.

But in the end like some poster put in other thread the club made us too obsessed about fees for players in and out, we almost discuss more about fees than results and tactics. We shouldnt even worry about that. Like fans of these teams ahead of us give a damn how much they spent or made in the market.

Yes, without doubt we should of. Unfortunately Cesc couldn't keep his mouth shut about Barca and put us in a a position where the ball was never in our court during the transfer negotations.

We didn't even try to "take the ball back". We need to be stronger in negotiations. It is laughable that we sold our captain, one of best midfielder in the world at the time with 5 year contract left for the same price as Andy Carroll.

If you are British or if you spend money on EPL proven young players, you will get the money back for sure.
Schneiderlin, Benteke, Chadli, Joe Allen, Ibe, Ryan Mason, ... are all on that list.
However, the problem with Arsenal is that we don't sell the "maybe deadwoods" on their highest value. Many examples in the past: Bendtner, Podolski, Denilson, Arshavin, Djourou, Chamakh, ...
Wenger gave all these players too much time to show him if they are still Arsenal player worthy.
For example: everyone could see that Arshavin was done after his second year, but Wenger refuses to replace him and the next year the performance of Arshavin is declining more and then he's taking action.
Or another case: Let's take Djourou. He was doing fine but everyone could see that he wasn't going to make it. Instead of selling him directly, they loaned him out and he failed at his loan resulting in devaluation.
Or Wenger loves loaning out players till their contracts almost expires. We are hands tied and need to sell at low price, for example Gnabry.
And we are still doing it. We could have sold Campbell after the WC2014 around £10m, we refused, loaning him out again and he will probably go for around £4m this summer.
Or Jenkinson, there were teams that wanted to buy him after his first good spell at West Ham. Wenger decided not to and now he's for sale for £3m.
Sczcesny comes to my mind as well, end this year he will have 1 year on his contract.
If Wenger had "more balls" and traded more on the market, we wouldn't get stuck with our deadwoods or at least get better value....
