Watching Bayern and you can see why we aren't a seat footballing side. They aren't sideways and backwards unless necessary it's always looking forward and it makes them so dangerous and hard to defend against. Passing beyond the nearest man not afraid to be risky. Beautiful stuff.

No player takes more than 3 touches - mostly its two, and the closer to goal they get it's often one. There's a purpose to it. Ours is often more passive, risk averse i.e. against the better teams, a way to keep them away from our goal because we don't like defending, and if we happen to get a goalscoring opportunity then it's a bonus.
