Why do we make these mistakes all the time though? Why have we had two slow starts in a row? We look so easy to play through, for any team. It seems that teams now can expect that we hand them at least 2-3 decent chances a match. We have conceded 20 goals already in 16 games. Only Liverpool is the other top side who has shown similar fragility (19 so far) but Sp**s, Chelsea, United and City have scored between 14 (Sp**s) and 9 (United). And it's not just this season, we've been defensively inept for years. This has to come down to Wenger. Not just from a tactical perspective, but he seems no longer to be able to properly motivate his players.
Its mentally thing agree he have his mistakes toi but the players also not learn its not like that they are child's to remind them of their jobs in every game they full of international players

Ramsey had an poor day today by his standards. Far too far forward again. He can't contain himself.

Jack will be a good replacement if Ramsey's injured again. Much better positioning.

Let's not kid ourselves, this season is all about getting back into the top 4.. Not getting top 4 and losing Alexis and Özil on top of that would be devestating.

Luckily we're still in a good position to get top 4 with a lot of tough away games already played(and lost lol).

Second half of the season looks much kinder, think we'll manage to sneak in there in the end. Hell, we still get to play Palace, West Ham and Newcastle twice.

Our away form is a real worry, west ham next should be a great opportunity to fix that.

I wouldn't be so sure for a number of variables :

1. Arsenal away from home.

2. West Ham are being managed by a man whose only distinguishing career moment as United Manager was beating Arsenal when every other premier league team swept into Old Trafford to claim all 3.

3. Arsenal in general.

This has all the makings of a shambles in waiting, one is a team in complete disarray, low on morale being woefully mismanaged by a buffoon & in danger of going into freefall down the table.

The other is West Ham United.

we simply must get whatever we can for Alexis next month - at the rate he is declining no one will want him come summer, including us

deja vu.
Suicidal passes in defence, slow lazy moves forward all protecting their pass ratios. For the umpteenth time we give them so much time to make the 2 lines of defenders. Wenger's approach not changed in 10 years. A PL manager's delight - who needs fresh notes, just tell the team what you told them for the last 5 years.
This is why every single manager in the league only has nice things to say about Wenger.

If our first 11 isn't on their game their athletic shortcomings are really evident. We don't have any players who take players on with pace and frighten defenders.

We don't have any dynamism in midfield. It's painful watching Xhaka and Ramsey turn while in possession. Everytime I see Alexis or Özil turn repeatedly to lose a defender it makes me wish we had two central midfielders who were capable of that.

We really lack athleticism and technical quality throughout the team.

When we don't learn from our mistakes over several years, it has to come down to the manager. All our defensive players seem to be prone to these mistakes, regardless of the personnel. Either Wenger doesn't set us up to defend properly as a unit (which we clearly aren't), or he seems to pick players who are susceptible to making errors. Or players turn into weak, nervous wrecks when they get here.

We are just so easy to play through, our players looked weaker and slower than them today, and for goodness sake we really need a ball winner in our team.

After conceding 2 goals in 10 minutes just a week before by acting like a pack of cvnts, the first thing you'd try to make sure in the next game is to be solid for the first few minutes. Instead we're wide open at the back. That's the most blatant example of tactical mismanagement and failure to learn from previous mistakes you can find.

Lucky to get the draw...Southampton created so many clear cut chances...they should've had 2 or 3.

Dont know where to start. Actually I do...drop bellerin, he needs a rest, looks out of sorts.

We barely put in a cross, when we did giroud scored, what's the point of bringing on a big man when you're not going to use his strengths.

With the exception of Xhaka, Özil and Kola the rest deserve a slap.

Too many under performers in Per, Kos, Bellerin, Ramsey and Alexis. I would like to see all of them dropped after that.

Did you really like what Xhaka produced today? All I saw was passing the ball to the open wing back and taking his time doing so. Not the most difficult skill imo, one I'd value more if the player also offered a little protection to the defence
