The club are charging Savoy money and providing a Premier Inn service. I don't know why we bothered to move to that corporate sanitised shell of a stadium only to sell our best players to Manchester United. Why the hell did we bother?

Nail on the ****ing head. Absolutely spot on. Gazidis’s “We’ll be on a level where we can compete with the likes of Bayern Munich” statement sounds as hollow as a an Easter egg.

Once again we lose our best player because the Club can’t show it’s a tier 1 club. Alexis is just fleeing a sunken ship, he wants silverware and knows it’s that time in his career, he is not getting any younger.

Its RVP and Henry all over again and I blame Wenger.

BTW...I’m sure all the money stuff is more about his greedy agent than him.

A bit unfair to include Henry in this. He won everything he could with us and moved at the right time in his career. Nobody says no to Barca. We got his best years anyway.

The thing is that we're not successful enough on the field to be on any top level. Having money and being able to pay top players is secondary to having a winning squad. A winning squad would be able to :

1. Get better commercial deals
2. Keep top class players
3. Attract top class players
4. Attract a newer and younger generation of fans.

Henry did what he had to do, but I do remember he asked for quality signings and Wenger did a Wenger. My point being, we have been badly managed and that is making us lose players instead of making legends.

ANother unfair comment. You;re placing this anger completely out of context. The club made it well known that we were going to go through a period where we would need to be frugal. Henry's request for quality signings was a selfish request in light of the events at the club at that time. The decision to move stadiums had long since been passed.

In recent years, yes, mismanagement is the case. Not with Henry.

Austerity is killing the club, Mark Tobias. I get we might been in a context where we needed it when Henry left. But I always had a feeling we could have done more then and in every negotation.

He was a weird player, always felt like a bit of an outsider and not really someone who bought into the club...more of an employee who was really great at his job but didn't believe in the company.

Can't remember where I read it but he's allegedly like that with the Chile NT too. Would not really socialise with teammates.

Feel more positive about this longer it's dragged on. To me getting Mikky and Aub to replace Sanchez could improve the squad.

Current best attacking players:
Sanchez, Özil, Lacazette, Giroud/Iwobi/Welbeck(?)

New attacking players:
Özil, Aubameyang, Lacazette, Mkhitaryan

That's a boost for me. To get the best out of them we'd hopefully move to a 4-4-2 diamond and away from this **** faux-Conte 3-4-3 we've been using recently.

-----------Lacazette --Aubameyang------------

Özil-----------------------------------Mkhitaryan

-------------Xhaka------Wilshere--------------

Monreal----Koscielny-Mustafi-----Bellerin

---------------------Cech---------------------

New deals for Oz and Wilsh, spend big on defence and keeper next summer.

This could be good.

P.S. Off to see my first Arsenal game next month. Anyone got any tips for pubs to go to before or Arsenal-related places to go before the game?

I'm not sure you understand the term Austerity.

In any case, we have money now. We've been spending much bigger and offering much better wages.

What manager in his right mind sells his best players after recently going a season undefeated. It is clear the club had to offload Henry and others to fund the stadium move. I don;t think we were bullshitted about that. It is subsequently, from 2013 onwards that there are serious doubts as to how much we could have done.

Just on that, I know Wenger said "for years we had to sell our best players". But, isn't there a difference between having to sell your best player's and them wanting to leave? Wenger sold Vieira because he decided that Fabregas and Vieira couldn't play together. He let Henry go because Henry wanted to go because he thought we weren't going to challenge anymore and he wanted to win the UCL. Van Persie wanted to go for similar reasons. Cesc wanted to go to Barca.

The only decisions that are debatable I guess were Nasri because we had just sold Cesc and he apparently wanted to stay, and potentially Adebayor and Toure, but I've got a feeling if those player's wanted to stay we wouldn't of had to sell them, we just wouldn't of been able to strengthen the team. Generally, as we've seen over the years, if a player wants to leave, they end up leaving...I just think there's a difference between having to sell your best player's and them wanting to leave. I have a feeling if Henry, Cesc and RVP wanted to stay, we wouldn't of had to sell them.

Of course there is a difference between them wanting to go and us being forced to sell. But consider this. Henry wanted us to buy players in a time where the club openly stated we would not be able to. RVP left in an era where the club were claiming we no longer needed to sell and would be able to compete soon. There is a massive difference in that too. RVP's request was reasonable. Henry's was not. Both of them found that the club's direction and ambition did not align with theirs. In the Henry case it was for the supposed betterment of the future of the club. In RVPs case we have no idea why they were still so reluctant to spend yet claimed they could.

Also, how much of "Nasri wanted to stay" being true is a very debatable thing.

let's not go overboard with cursing him.

for all we know, mesut Özil could join him there this summer and we'll look like proper muppets for all the ass-kissing that he's receiving at the moment (after all the bashing that he got earlier)

Özil is more likely to be playing for United than for Arsenal next fall, though I'd still take the field over those two options combined (though only slightly).

Chile NT is a bunch of drunks, including Vidal. Alexis tried to be apart from them.
Wow. You know this because you're Alexis' mother? Not sure how else you could have this info, other than of course your making assumptions, or parroting Chilean tabloid innuendo, and passing them off as fact.
