Charles Watts used to be an Arsenal staff and writer on Arsenal.com.

He has this story, which seems a lof of hearsay, but then there might be some truth in it, as he probably still has a lot of contacts there.

Watts definitely still has a lot of contacts at the club. He's been pretty reliable. Could be someone fed him this for a reason. This is the part I find a bit disturbing if it's true:

Brought in to oversee the club’s vast scouting and recruitment network, the German has rarely held any sort of dialogue with the scouting team he is supposed to lead or engaged in any sort of feedback in terms of what has been submitted to him.

Behind the scenes he has earned the reputation of being somewhat of a lone wolf, someone who prefers to operate by himself and not someone who wants to work within a structured set-up.

An example of this is having been appointed in December 2017, he gathered the club’s recruitment network together just once - before the League Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley last season - with that remaining the only time he ever spoke personally to some of the scouts that he was supposed to oversee.

Football.London understands that there was also a view taken by many that Mislintat was happy to take credit for some transfers, even though the majority of work to get the player to north London had been undertaken by others.

----

How can you oversee a vast scouting network and basically not talk to any of your scouts?

I personally find his dress sense in the picture a bit disturbing lol

I see the clubs character assassination is in full force.

Yeah seems way to far fetched for it to be true especially given the business we have done since he arrived. Besides the 3 dortmund guys, we've got players for Italy, second division of France and ****ing Greece. Don't see how you go get these guys without having dialogue with his team.

Would you rather we have 4 people who can't agree on a single thing?
Think you're being paranoid. If we get Monchi then i think we're on the right track. Emery needs on team on his page

No he doesn't. Emery answers to the people above him and those guys need to be able to make decisions without emotion clouding their judgement. The guys above him should be able to provide enough talent to give the manager the best shot of being able to compete so that if the team is underachieving the easy thing to do is replace the manager. Which if we are just going to sign Emerys mates then this becomes harder to do. Now Monchi may be the best option out there but the reality of the situation is in the 14 months Mislintat has been here, he has done a very good job of bringing talent into the club and we shouldn't be replacing him.

Sven isn't being fired. He's quitting. The club has no choice but to replace him. He's leaving (at least in part) because he isn't being considered for a job that requires much more than simply identifying talent and for which Sanllehi doesn't believe Sven is qualified or suited.

You do realise that people can have a good working relationship (i.e. be friends) and still achieve everything they have designated to them..?
Man how twisted capitalism has made you!

IMO, Sanllehi is looking to build this Barcelona model for management here at Arsenal on the values imparted by our legendary manager, Arséne Wenger.

This is an intriguing thought, but how on earth could a team modeled after Arsène's values not be able to find time on the pitch for Mesut f*cking Özil?

Emery's style, regardless of its effectiveness, is structured, rigid, and disciplined, not free-flowing, open, and expressive like Wenger valued. Wenger was a socialist. Emery is a dictator.

Lmao what? Your socialist, dictator analogy has to be the most nonsensical comparison I've resd on this forum period lmao.

It's absolutely horseshit mate. While Gazidis was still here, there were rumours that Mislintat was going to be PROMOTED for doing an excellent job and the moment he left, Sanllehi not only didn't promote him, he DEMOTED Mislintat to a mere head scout, which was not what he expected when he joined us here. Sanllehi did this because he wants to bring his friends at the club and didn't like an outsider interfering. Let's not even kid ourselves that there were football reasons for his departure.

Monchi is same level as sven if we got him I'll be very happy plus him with Emery at Sevilla worked very well.
