Mata is still valuable for his ball distribution and chance creation skills. He played for Emery for three seasons at Valencia. He's free. Depending on what sort of wages he would demand, if he wanted to come be a squad player and play for Emery again, I would not be against that at all. But I think it's more likely he goes back to Spain. We'll see.

What is it with these creative CAMs / false wide players. The club always seems so arrogant. Are we really in a position to bring in this type of players?
Give me a CB, some solid full backs, another wise head in midfield or some raw pace wide to get opposition to respect us over this type of player.
