Hey if he’s free and he’s willing to be more of a squad player and doesn’t ask for outlandish wages I’m fine with this. My only issue would be if they bring him in as an Özil replacement or this somehow holds us back from signing other creative midfielders.

I don't follow Emery's logic if this is true. Mata is fit for his philosophy but Özil is not?

I reckon they probably have the same kind of defensive workrate... not to mention i don't rate Mata anymore. He's peaked as a player.

So has Özil so we'd have two players drawing wages putting in rubbish performances and yet another thread with a bunch of fanboys.
