He isn't worth the money but ven with that being true, Willian, Pedro, Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic is a great mix of youth and experience.

Bar city and Liverpool it's probably the best set of wide options in the league. I'd have it over Mkhi, Iwobi, Welbeck/Suarez and I suppose we have to count PEA as a wide forward.

The interesting thing is that Willian, Pedro and Hudson-Odoi will all be entering the final year of their contracts. Normally, they should be looking to either extend or sell. Hudson-Odoi is refusing to extend. Pedro turns 32 this summer and Willian 31. Will Chelsea offer them new deals at that age, sell them or let them walk in 2020? It's all, of course, complicated by the fact that they're under a transfer ban and won't be able to buy anyone. That also complicates Hazard, who is also about to enter the final year of his deal and is playing footsie with Real Madrid.

Chelsea could conceivably lose all four for nothing if they refuse to sell. But if they do sell, who replaces them while they can't buy anyone? Of course they have about a bazillion players out on loan, so they could use some of those guys, but the overall quality of their attack could suffer greatly. Unless the transfer ban is overturned, they won't be able to keep Higuain. Giroud is out the door. Morata has a 2-year loan deal with Atletico (although I don't know if there's a recall provision). So if they did sell off the expiring contracts, they'd be basically left with Pulisic, Barkley, Loftus-Cheek and maybe Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham back from loan. So they can hardly afford to sell since they can't buy. It's really a Catch-22 situation.

They could be in real trouble and will lose some assets anyway. Those loans can be handy for them though.

What is the reason for not being able to keep Higuain?

They are in areal mess. No chance of challenging for the title next year, but this could work out in their favour by giving youth a chance. They still have many top players.

Higuain is a loan deal with an option to buy. With the transfer ban in effect, they won't be allowed to exercise the option.

Yes. They can send players out, but can't bring any in either by sale or loan. So unless their appeal is upheld, they only have their current players plus any returning from loan periods elsewhere.

Wow, that sucks for them if its upheld.

Can't see Morata returning before the 2yrs are up, he would do a 'Kepa' and refuse to get on the plane!

I like Pepe but I don't know if he is actually worth that high of a price. It may be smart we go the Neres route instead.

Pepe is never worth that much - Lille want 70 or 80m. Neres would definitely be my go to option, too, and would cost only 40 to 50m.

I watched highlights of their game with PSG, and even though he scored, Pepe was pretty mediocre. The more I've seen of him, the more he gives me Mahrez vibes in how he goes in and out of games. The talent is there, just don't know if he's got the kind of consistency required at our level (especially for the quoted price).

What barca see in Willian? I mean he is decent player but they should look for much better player.
He is quality, he wont complain if he does not start every game, he is very versatile can give a pass can hold the ball excellent dribbler can play deep in midfield can play as an inside forward can play as a winger, excellent workrate free kick specialist.

what more do you want???

Must be nice knowing you reign supreme in your league that you can hold all other clubs hostage to your whim.

If there is one team I want us to deliver a crushing defeat to after our rebuild its these bastards.

For too long they've had it their way against us & we have to put that right.
