Emery fcuked around too much with the team in the beginning. Now I think Özil might have smartly downed his tools

Think about it, ATM who is our most creative player? The guy who is the most likely to make things happen against defenses which are not breaking down? Is it Özil? Because IMHO it's Kolasanic who has been driving our attack and creating most of our goals. Ask yourself this question, how did we reach the stage where a left back is the only effective creative force in the team?

Because we are very average as a team. As individuals, we have very good players, average ones and very bad players. You get rid of the bad players first. Özil isn't one of them.

The answer to that question is Unai Emery Etxegoien, you know the guy who’s in charge of the tactics.

Bellerin was our most “creative” player before he got injured as well. It’s almost as if Unai Emery Etxegoien deliberately sets up the team to get the best out of the full/wingbacks with 2/3 DMs who sit deep so Kolasinac can camp at the corner flag to spam cutbacks. It’s the same reason why we insist on taking short corners all the time.

I'm interested to know what people define as creativity? Because I'm seeing teams scoring 150+ goals a season without a single player in the number 10 role.

The number 10 role is dead. Either adapt like Silva/De Bruyne have done in a 3 man midfield or simply perish. No other top side has a number with license to roam wherever he wants with no responsibility to work hard defensively, track back, press and in general follow the game plan along with the other players.

Maybe that's why there was very few potential buyers for Özil when his contract was expiring because no top side would be able to fit him in without their team losing something as a result. You can't carry players. Pep, Klopp, Pochettino, Valverde, Simeone, Allegri none of them would want a player who has to be given complete freedom with zero responsibility other than showing up vs Newcastle or Leicester once every few months.

Özil is sucking up tremendous resources. We probably can’t afford to pay anyone 350k per week, never mind a guy who turns up once in a while and seldom makes a difference in matches. We’re better off to move on and try to rebuild without him.

These may not be entirley accurate

Cech 100k a week
Mustafi 90k a week
Belik 25k a week
Kola 120k a week
Neny 50k a week
Lictenstiener 90k a week
Mhky 120k a week

Players on loan that no doubt we are probably paying wages for #charity fc
Ospina 40k a week
Chambers 25k a week
Perez 80k a week

That 740k in just those players who are parasites. All of those players really should not be making the first team again and should all be moved on. So your right that we cannot afford Özil but please look at the real reason we cannot afford to add other top players or keep them. If we sold Özil it frees up 300k but we are still chucking 740k plus down the drain every week.

We had 75% possession last night...
At least he was trying but if you play with these kind of **** players who are not delivering in away games you are finished as a club.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. Özil is probably the most guilty for not performing in away games. As our supposed 'best player', he would definitely be the most guilty. Nothing to do with any other player/s.

League is very weak
Last season aside, this is the poorest we’ve been away from home for over 20 years.

Lacazette has 6 away goals, goals leaking, no output from guys like Iwobi and Mikhi etc. So many issues.

We improved the players from last season though, Sokratis, Leno, Torreira etc, I expected some improvements.

just seems like there is so much work to do and so many players need gone. it will take a while if we even get there and unfortunately not many managers are given much time to build a team anymore.
seems we are in for a long slow slog
