Hopefully this is the start of building the new Arsenal. Ivans Arsenal just **** the bed when he jumped ship months into full control.

A year or two from now think it will look alot different... Maybe a CEO replacing Dumb & Dumber... Wenger on the board?... Vieira in charge?

Who knows but good to see Edu back after getting this experience.

Nothing will change until Kroenke start to show something towards this club.

Heard Sol is doing a neat job in the 3rd or 4th division? Kind of Shameful that Lampard goes from nothing to Derby to probably Chelsea, Henry from TV screens to Monaco but Sol has to go way down. On the other hand that exactly might help him to become a proper manager.

Also think Freddie is doing a good job. Youth coach, assistant, youth coach again. Get your experience leading and coaching then aim high. Pep (and Zidane) are the exception - for reasons beyond their ability - Henry crashing and burning going from pundit and assistant to top dog is the reality.
What do you mean by "reasons beyond their ability"?

Getting their first first team job at two of the biggest and best clubs out there did definitely help them achieve instant success. It's not meant to doubt their ability but it puts things into context. Very few managers start at such massive clubs with such talent and thus instantly start winning trophies. Thus they are the exception.

Heynckes, Ancelotti, Klopp, Ferguson etc all had to start at smaller clubs.

But they spent many years managing the youth teams of Barca/Madrid...... and got picked as full manager because of how highly rated they were as youth coaches. Wenger offered the youth team job to guys like Henry and Arteta, yet they turned their nose to that. There's no better place to learn how to be a good coach than a top class youth team, cause it allows you to handle talent yet at the same time forces you to learn how to be patient in nurturing talent. Ljungberg has a brighter future than Henry and Arteta as manager because he took the right path.

Agree with you on the youth coaching and said the same in a previous post.

Zidane did arguably prepare well as advisor, youth coach and I think as co coach and a short Stunt as DoF. But Pep only did one year at Barca B.

Anyway from youth team straight to Barca or Real is a pretty quick route and raises chances of instant success. Henry eg took the worst possible way. Ljungberg is doing the right thing.

Kroenke luck.
I've read we could have brought him in a lot earlier but weren't prepared to pay anything to get him. Not the best sign for our club that after over a year of wengers resignation our backroom setup is still not in place. Makes it also a lot more difficult for emery.

Seems a bit nebulous what difference Edu will make if any. Not sure you can conclude his absence has made any difference. Given we don't even know what his effect will be once he's actually in the job.
