An elite GK compare to the his predecessors.

So? Koscielny would be elite for another few years in that farmers league. He'll only look ****e when they play PSG and Lyon. Napoli just sold Raul Albiol (soon 34) to Villareal for €5m. That's your reference point for Koscielny's value.

Wouldn't it make sense for Rennes to just cover however much it will cost Kos to buy out the remainder of his contract?

Not a recent article but there seems to be dates & quite a complicated process... not just like matching buyout clause in Spain,

provided that they notify their club of the intent to do so within 15 days of the final competitive match of the season and pay any required compensation.

Told you all this guy was pathetic and got slammed for it.

Decent CB when played with the right partner, but also the worst captain I’ve ever seen at the club. Certified loser.

Agree. Mertesacker made him look better than he was. It's a while ago now but I'm sure he was awful when playing alongside Vermaelen. He was never that great for the National team either - lovely that they won the World Cup when he wasn't part of the squad.

Big game bottler. All started on his debut at Anfield where he got sent off. I've lost count of the horror shows he had against Chelsea.

Not my captain.

The partnership Djourou and Koscielny had in 2011 was pretty impressive too. I remember Djourou being rock solid that season.

Koscielny bottled that Birmingham game though. That was disgraceful.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsenal was firmly embedded in the local community and had a very solid, working-class foundations. The fans espoused the club's values. This visceral attachment, from childhood, to a club and a team is something I have never seen anywhere else with such fervour. Every fan's first match at Highbury was like a baptism.
