He’s secured his future with this contract.

He’ll get a high end championship club next summer, maybe even a PL side.

Do you blame him? He’s on 40k a week training with/representing his favourite football club. Any rational human would be happy staying as long as he’s contracted with those circumstances.

Blame the weirdos in the club who turned down bids for him back when he was worth something
100% correct. You honour your contract. The club were offered good money for him and decided it wasnt enough. Our whole management policy sucked. Youth development is to supplement the development of the senior squad. The cream of the crop stay but decent players move on and their fees get reinvested in established first team players. Unfortunately we wanted to hold onto all these guys Gibbs, Jenkinson, Wilshere until their value nose dived. Rather than notice the warning signs, inconsistent, back up and not good enough and always injured.

Jenkinson will be lucky to earn 10k per week at his next club. Who voluntarily gives up 1.5m? Especially when you can earn it leave for free and pick up a nice sign on bonus.

Honouring his contract. He’ll play tomorrow if needs be.
He should never play for the club again but he probably will get games here and there. More i think about him , the angrier i'm getting. Thing is, we''ve got El Neny in exactly the same situation for the next few years.

Model professional. Trains when required, is available when fit and never a negative story. There are worse than Jenkinson that have stole a living at Arsenal.

I think many have but they did so towards the end of their careers. This guy had his whole career in front of him and chose to do **** all. He's not even a bench warmer at this club for the past 3 seasons.

The whole ‘they earn so much anyway’ argument is a load of bs. Yes compared to the average human they live in a completely
Different world, but the thought process isn’t any different to a regular individual, you want to maximise your salary to have as comfortable a life as possible.

Unless they have a compelling reason e.g to move to their boyhood club why would anyone want to earn less just because they still earn a lot anyway.

A ‘normal’ person wouldn’t want to lower their annual salary by £5k as that’s a family holiday, Jenkinson doesn’t want to cut his weekly wage by say £20k as that’s £1m+ lost per year that could’ve bought another holiday home and supercar. They’re not directly comparable, two complete different income brackets who have completely different needs/wants.

You need to understand how contracts work.

Why don’t you go and do something constructive btw? Help the homeless or something? Instead of wasting time on here.

Make the world a better place.

Its not about the contract. Do you think a talented player would have stuck around on the same wage in the current situation.

This guy has no motivation to enhance his footballing career. He'll earn good money for the final year but won't even get close to earning the same money for his remaining playing years.

Why he has no motivation?
At the moment he is a Back-Up Player for one of the biggest clubs in England. So all Back-Up Players have no motivation?

He probably will get games next season again, is travelling with the team. Don't think he can achieve more.
At the end of his contract he will join some Championship Club. He can't get more with his talent and potential.

He's not even a backup option mate. We played Lich, AMN over him last season, that tells you a lot.

and he still played some games or not?

Next season there is no Lichtsteiner. Bellerin after his injury and AMN, who isn't a RB.

Would have liked to take Osei-Tutu on tour our maybe Daley-Campbell would have signed a new contract, if he would get a chance on the tour. The Club and Emery decided against it.

By the way, I don’t blame Jenkinson or Elneny. The lads have to eat and make a living plus provide for their families. I would have milked it exactly the same way they are.

The club is fully responsible for offering them both new contracts.
