..........................Lacazette (28)
...........................Nketiah (20)
..........................Martinelli (18)

The key IMO is to get Xhaka out. His inadequacies put pressure on every other player in the team, especially the defense. Any plan that involves keeping him at CM will fail, IMO. Partey would be perfect.

I'm okay with losing Auba if we can use the funds to bring in a player like Pepe. Lacazette is younger, on lower wages (esp if Auba signs a new deal), has three years left on his contract, and is a more well-rounded player with better hold-up/link-up play and better pressing. Pepe can replace some of the goals we'd lose with Auba leaving.

In general I'd prefer to give more minutes to our young players rather than signing stop-gap veterans. If more funds need to be generated, I'd sell Mkhi or Iwobi and give more time to Smith-Rowe.
Since posting this a few things have changed, so I'm updating to factor in the changes:

1. Pepe in without (it appears) needing to sell Auba
2. With Auba staying, no need to buy another winger (Fraser)
3. Loan for Ceballos means it is not urgent to buy a CM (Partey)
4. Kosc forcing a sale means we need a first choice CB
5. It appears that Bielik will be sold (therefore we must keep Chambers) and Nelson loaned (need a different backup winger/AM).

Out:
Granit Xhaka (€25M)
Sead Kolasinac (€10M)
Shkodran Mustafi (€5M)
Muhammed Elneny (€5M)
Krystian Bielik (€5M)

David Ospina (€4M)*
Laurent Koscielny (€4M)
Xavier Amaechi (€2.5M)*

TOTAL: €65.5M

In:
Nicolas Pepe (€80M)*
William Saliba (€30M + Loan Back)*
Presnel Kimpembe (€30M)
Kieron Tierney (€25 + Jenkinson)
Gabriel Martinelli (€7M)
Dani Ceballos (Loan)
TOTAL: €173M

NET SPEND: €108M

For the remainder of the window:

In: Dias (€40m) / Kimpembe (€35m) / Rugani (€30m) / Upamecano (€35m), Soares (€40m), Tierney (€25m), Alves (€5m altogether)

Out: Elneny (€10m), Bielik (€10m), Amaechi (€2.5m), Asano (€2m), Koscielny (€5m), Mustafi (€15m), Mkhitaryan (€15m), Kolasinac (€15m) / Monreal (€5m)

Its a bit unrealistic. Perhaps set a more achievable window. Its not football manager.

Ins:
Nicolas Pepe (£72m)
William Saliba (£27m)
Dani Ceballos (Loan)
Gabriel Martinelli (£6m)
Presnel Kimpembe (Loan= Option To Buy)
Kieran Tierney (£25m)

Outs:
Mohamed Elneny (£8m)
Laurent Koscielny (£8m)
David Ospina (£3m)
Nacho Monreal (£5m)
Carl Jenkinson (£5m)

Going to assume that Pepe is done.

In: Alves (free), Tierney (25m), Dunk (35m)

Out: Jenkinson (3m) Maitland-Niles (25m), Nelson(loan) , Mustafi (15m), Mkhi (10m), Kos (2m), El Nenny (5m), Bielik (10m), Özil (15m), Kolasinac (15m).

Dunk really hurts my head. Brighton want £40M for LEWIS DUNK. Theres so many better centre backs for a better price. Why not get Kimpembe or Boubacar Kamara or Malang Sarr or Upamecano or Konate or Ake. Someone better than dunk

What's unrealistic? The sell fees? My wishlist is from before the Pepe news broke. I assumed we couldn't afford a 80m winger and a cb, so I spread it 40 / 40 between Dias (or alternatives) and Soares.

I'd be ecstatic with your list too, by the way. Think Kimpembe can be very good under Emery and we need a left-footed ball-playing CB, just hope we're selling a few more players (notably Mkhi and Mustafi) than you list here.

Looking for receipts 👀
Definately need a solid Left back and Centre back.

Play a flat back 4 with the emphasis on defence first attack 2nd.

With potentially Pepe, Laca, Auba, Özil, Ceballos in forward positions that should be enough to not have to over rely on our full backs for attacks and leaving spaces all over the place when they break down.

Assuming we get Tierney and Pepe over the line my wish list for next summer is,

A top class partner for Saliba

Hopefully Ceballos will be a big success and we can get him on a permanent deal, if not a 'baller' of a similar profile for midfield

A better more mobile version of Xhaka who can play in a solid 2 with Torreira

Both the Norwich fullbacks when they get relegated! Aarons as backup to Bellerin and Lewis backing up Tierney

Out

Kola*
Monreal *
Chambers *
Mustafi
Elneny *
Xhaka
Mkhi
Özil

* May go this year

Title challenge 2020-21 here we come!

GK - Leno, Martinez
Full backs - Bellerin, Tierney, Aarons, Lewis
DC - Saliba, ?, Holding, Chambers, Medley
Midfield - Ceballos, ?, Torreira, Willock, AMN, Iwobi, ESR
Attack - Auba, Laca, Pepe, Nelson, Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah

Midfield 2 is dead, the free role Özil strives for is dead

ACM must be counted to a midfield trio

Opposition dictates if it is a flat
1: ACM, dm , ACM
2 DM, ACM, DM
3: Dm, CM, ACM

I'm a big fan of 4-3-3 too, that would be my first choice. I would still like a midfielder who could play alongside Torreira in a 2 as well as being the perfect compliment in a 3 so we have the flexibility to play 4-2-3-1 or even 4-4-2 at home against the weaker sides.

Almost doesnt matter which DM we bring, regardless if we play xhaka or torreira, and I like both

2men midfields are too easily bullied,

Auba and Pepe/Zaha winger types are not great defenders so we need that extra dm

3 CMS now!

Against weaker sides we wan even go 4312 and have the wbs provide all the width

This whole budget thing is stupid. Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the world (from sales, revenue, ticket prices etc) and one of the biggest brands. No one knows how much Arsenal have, though its definetly over £40m and most likely over £100m

and yes its unrealistic theres no way Mkhi and Mustafi will leave. There wages are too high. Theres also no way we will get FOUR amazing, young centre backs especially for the prices you listed.

My wish-list breakdown because I am bored as hell at work

Ins (Bold = done) -
Martinelli - £6M (£3M this summer)
Saliba - £27M (£4M this summer)
Ceballos - LOAN (£4M this summer)
Pepe - £72M (£20M this summer)
Tierney - £25M (£15M this summer)
Ruben Dias - £54M (£20M this summer)

Total face value - £188M. Total this summer - £66M

Outs (Bold = done) -
Ospina - £5M
Benaccer - £4M fee from sell on clause

Koscielny - £4M
Mustafi OR Chambers - £20M
Elneny - £8M

Total sales - £41M

Probably bring this summers payments down to around the £50M mark, absolutely spot on in my eyes. Even room for Dani Alves if there's time ;)

You're reading it wrong. It's one CB out of those options and the other mentioned players. With the Mustafi links hopefully my list is not too unrealistic.

ok i was gonna say. Tbh I really hope we dont get Rugani, ive heard really bad things from Juve fans about him. Id rather we get a younger centre back like Boubacar Kamara or Malang Sarr. I think tho we should try and get Romagnoli. They want Bielik and there in heavy debt. Perhaps offer like £30m + Bielik to hopefully get a deal
