Would like him to just do his thing when given the chance. I hope he'll get a lot of them in cup games etc. He doesn't seem like he needs a loan for now and could benefit more around the first team players.

Hope he absolutely shreds U23 league this season after pre-season with the first team. Just like Nelson did in 17/18.

Have seen very little of him but I just have a feeling that he has world class potential. Curious - has he ever been tried at left back?

Who cares about feelings?

Left foots are rare, and more needed at LB and LCB

He should grow up and play where the boss tells him to!

They tried that with Bale and it was mostly a disaster. Saka is not a defender. Just cause he played there against kids at U17 level does not mean he has potential there for the first team. He has enough talent to make it as a winger here. Only concern is his touch which can be erratic at times and his combination play, but he still has lots of time to polish up his game.

Wait hold on he’s only 17?!

Kid has done some serious bypassing.
Hes steamrolled his way through the levels. His schoolboy season in U18s was successful and the subsequent year he made a first team debut while still a first year scholar. I remember being at the Qarabag game trying to explain to fans who he was and that he was a 1st year

Was his old position. Was far more comfortable further forward - not that he was bad at LB mind.
You rarely hear of guys working their way up the pitch.

Usually get pushed back because their final third decision making or technical ability isn’t quite up to scratch. He’s an interesting player this kid.

Think he needs to get a position nailed down or else he could face similar problems like Sessegnon, jack of all trades, master of none.

Well in Emery's scheme, the fullback positions are almost glamour roles - the formation looks like a 2-2-2-4 when attacking, with the fullbacks all the way up the pitch providing width. Saka looks to have a very good cross on him, and physically he seems built for defending.

He is built for destroying fullbacks. 17 year old Rooney was built for defending too. Stocky and powerful, but that was obviously not his position.

He’s in a weird position at the minute. Battling with Martinelli for that last spot on the bench but due to that he’s missing u23 games.
