I hope if he goes we get £5-£10 million for him, though the Kola haters here must realise that will mean Kola is here for the foreseeable future.

If we let him go for £250k because he wants to go the only message is that we are prepared to let a player go if he wants to go. And that is never a good message.

Having a back up LB on £100k+ p/w is horrendous stuff nevermind one that isn't even suited to playing in a back four :lol:

Same applied for Koscielny and we (rightly) got a few million quid for him. Players loyalty is reciprocated every month when their inflated paychecks hit their accounts.
But the same didn't apply for koscielny at all. We weren't willing to give him what he wanted cos he was being an ass. Monreal on the other hand...

Nah, these are grown men not little boys who you cajole into saying "please" and "thank you" by offering or withholding a bag of sweeties.

And this, sadly, is a business. Nacho is being allowed to go because the club doesn't need 3 left-backs and it will save £4/£5 million on wages. The lateness of the Tierney signing meant there hasn't been enough time to hold out for a better deal. Nacho won the game of poker but if Tierney is the biz then we won't have lost either because he was only ever going to be back-up and Kola would then have been upset as he would barely have played.

Koscielny's departure before we signed Luiz would have meant having to play a player (Mustafi) who the team is desperate to get rid of for the best part of two months. Hence the club holding out for an adequate fee.

To be honest didn't know monreal is already 33 years old damn still 250K is really small fee. I don't put monreal in samw category with mustafi elneny Jenkinson he been here since 2013 and give us 6 good years maybe last season he show sign of decline but when he on form he very good and not error prone fullback

Shame Nacho won't play tomorrow. Doesn't make sense when real have already played this weekend.

He could have had a proper send-off after our win.

It'd be way too damning on Kolasinac. A player leaving starting ahead of him. Although the Bosnian isn't match fit.

I assume he still be here until after the game tomorrow, just not involved in the actual match itself?

Well perhaps, but Emery has been playing Monreal ahead of Kola all August knowing he was likely to leave. So it seems like the ranking of the two was clear in his mind. And he'd have had the perfect excuse because it would have been his last game.

There was the incident so Kola wasn't ready for the season. But yeah, given Nacho's the better player still then it's likely he still would've started anyway.

Nacho will turn 34 years old in few months and Arsenal are in rebuilding mode. With both Bellerin and Tierney coming back in few weeks, we will have an overstock of fullbacks.

So we kind of learnt nothing with the RB issues last season. No loan in the January window post Hector injury was a hell of a risk.

Hopefully the SPL kid is close to fitness & ready for this level or Kola can put in a solid run.

You can't really expect to have three specialist senior players for each position. Your third cover has to be either someone not playing in his normal position or a player from the youth team.
