HECCYY Is back in Training and thus the match day thread falls to me. Expecting a 2-1 win with us sitting back after scoring 2 goals and a Xhaka penalty.

Thank f*ck I'm working and don't have to watch this.

Hope we see a CB pairing of Holding and Chambers if Emery has anything about him. Don't care about the rest of the team really.

Wouldn't care if we didn't get out the group stage.

No clue who we can start up front, worried if it’s Martinelli.

I would like to see Pepe and Nelson start this, they both desperately need a goal and some confidence to kickstart their seasons. I want Torreira and Özil to build some fitness. Hopefully Saka and ESR gets some minutes too.

No doubt in my mind, Emery will find a way to bottle this. Don’t know much about Frankfurt but they got the semis last year and they’re manager isn’t a bum so I’m thinking of a 2-1 loss but I am hoping for a draw at least.

Nelson and Willock need game time, along with Chambers. Rest I don't care about.

Going for a draw and we're being pinned back all game.

Toughest game in the group so I'm expecting an unnecessarily strong lineup for this. I'm half expecting Auba to start. This is the lineup I would like:

Martinez
Mustafi Chambers Holding Kolasinac
Torreira Willock
Nelson Smith-Rowe Saka
John-Jules
With this, it leaves room for a strong bench just in case and gives a good opportunity for the youngsters from the start. Nelson needs a good performance in this one as he has looked really short on confidence. John-Jules deserves an opportunity off of the strength of his performances in preseason and for the u23s this season. He has been impressive all round.

Alternatively we could see Martinelli start in place of Saka or indeed Saka playing LB or LWB depending on the shape. I think Emery will start Pepe most likely to get the ball rolling for him which I'm OK with. Martinelli could play upfront but I'd much rather give John-Jules the rub and play Martinelli in the wide positions.

Theres a lot we could do here, I just hope that Emery doesn't be a coward and play the seniors just because. I'd rather lose with the youngsters than have the seniors struggle and gain little from the game as we will go through anyway.

I'd like to see :

Martinez
Mustafi Chambers Holding Kolasinac
Torreira Willock
Pepe Özil Nelson
Martinelli

Will be the toughest game of the entire group stage so we need senior players in there if we want to win (even though I personally dont care about the EL).

Özil has hardly played and should be fresh, Pepe needs a goal to increase his confidence... please play Torreira at DM and drop Xhaka for him if he plays well.

Stopped caring about this competition, no chance we win it anyway.
just play the youngsters and Özil, holding possibly hector on the bench.

I think that's what most of the fans want too, but I'm worried that Emery sees himself as an Europa League specialist and is a hungry for a 4th title ot add to his collection. If this is true then we will jeopardise our top 4 chances by spreading ourselves too thin again.

I truly believe we would be playing champions league this year if it wasn't for Emery's desire for cup victory last year. Let's not make the same mistake, especially with all these talented youngsters that need the minutes to develop

Do we really have to play these extra games.
Not only will it be tiresome to watch but we stand no chance of winning it, always get steamrolled by the first good team we face.

We’ll go strong though and better pray to god Auba comes through safely because there’s no way we’re winning any league games without him.

Özil at 10 And Emery Out
We should start with the strongest team possible imo. If this is the most difficult fixture (I have no idea who’s in our group) then we might as well try to to get 3 points here and let the kids play the easier ones or when we’re close to being through to the knockout stage. This is also a good opportunity to get Pepe and the rest of the attack going.

Won’t happen but I’d like to see this team:

Leno
AMN Chambers Luiz/Sok Kola
Torreira Ceballos/Willock
Pepe Mesut Nelson
Auba

I dont know what to think about this competition ofcourse it will give you a ticket to CL but we will fade anyway later on because there will be some good teams falling out of the group stages from CL we bottled it for 2 years.

I am tired of seeing us in the EL instead of CL.

Exactly the lineup I was thinking.
