Why is our build up play so slow? Our midfield do not release the ball with urgency. If you watch Xhaka you can almost see the cogs turning and it’s been like that for some time, even before Emery.

And Douzi likes to side step players before releasing it. He does it too often, but he’s young and learning.

You really think Emery is telling them to be slow? I can’t see that.

And finally I don’t see any difference in our squad this season. Pepe is OK up front. But Xhaka is still there, Luiz is making more mistakes than Kos, AMN is still out of position, Kola is still one dimensional and worse than a Monreal, Sokratis has deteriorated and Leno is now getting tentative with those bozos in front of him.

This window has not improved us 5/10 at best. We needed a new spine, not a winger.

Trax, look at our defensive shape on the tweet above our posts. 9 men in the box. That's coached. That's being asked of the players.

He may not ask them to be slow, but he has had enough time to find a solution that does not revolve around that. He can't have us playing like that against a lower mid table team.

I also had similar impression when reading it.
It reminded me when he came here, there was a quote from a Sevilla or PSG player, on how you go to sleep while watching so much videos.

He must have had some extreme level PowerPoint skills or used some premium Prezi slides, to impress Ivan, Raul and Sven

Oh it was was PowerPoint alright. Ivan saw the first slide and that was good enough for him.

Don’t think this was a bad appointment by Ivan, on the face of it he was hiring a young proven tactical manager.

when you fall asleep halfway through a presentation you have little option but to say how impressed you were when you wake up

I know you're OTTing but this one is firmly os Gazidis' hand.

It’s actually impressive how badly he got almost every key decision wrong in his final year.

Taking Mkhi back in the Alexis swap which effectively meant we paid 180k a week for three years to get rid of Alexis. This was despite it being painfully obvious he was leaving from about 2016.

He signed an almost 30 year old Özil to a mega contract rather than bite the bullet and lose him on a free.

Both moves meant we couldn’t afford a Ramsey extension and ended up losing him on a free, then the manager he gets has shown no major improvement over Wenger. He finished behind a Sp**s team that lost 13 games and a Chelsea team that only won 8 league games in 2019.

He was hailed as a Europa league specialist but we were hammered by a injury ravaged Chelsea team in the final. Ivan the terrible.

People talking about one extreme to another, was Wenger even an extreme?
His extremity lied in the way he never ever cared about who he faced. He and many players under him, said so aswell. They spend litle to no time focusing on the opposition, only on them selfes. Compared to Emery who uses about all the energy on the opposition, they are two opposite extremes, imo.

Wenger and his like believe in imposing their game on the opposition, most weeks it worked. In big games it worked too at times, even when it didn’t work we at least carried a threat.

Emery is the extreme, this guy picks 9 defenders at home to Burnley. 3 flat midfielders at home to Sp**s? Come on.

Well then he is horroble at it. How can you not nullify a threat like Delofeu? How can you allow Cleverly to push your mids so much? Pathetic approach to even the bottom of the league. We stand no chance against big teams if this is how his so called 'energy' is utilised.

Twitter trash speaking of a bust up in the dressing room. Wouldnt surprise me given the noises coming out about player discontent.

Modern managers do not survive a dressing room coup.

Doubt there will be a revolt or a coup, but I’m sure guys like Edu are picking up things, directly or indirectly.

During our barren years, I use to take solace in the fact that were playing good football.

How do you rate a new manager. A new manager is rated according to the progress his team is showing. For those supporting him, what have you seen in our team to actually make you think we're progressing.

Infact, I can definitely say that Wenger's 2017/2018 team functioned better than this our current team.

Most that back him are just people who dont wanna be seen as a club that gets rid of managers quickly, they are happy to ignore the fact there has been zero progress and he has somehow made us worse defensively than at the end of wengers era, I guess that is a hell of an achievement in itself tho

Emery Gone, Telly Back On

 no it didn't, why do you keep saying this? We're clearly loaded.

And we did offer him an extension, remember? It was last summer, a good while after those two moves you're on about.

But thankfully we withdrew. Bloke's an injury prone player, who contributed to 5-6 games a season.

Has he even played for Juve yet? He's made out of glass.

100% spot on. I understand him changing the tactics around for the big games but we should be dominating the majority of this league and not ****ting ourselves playing the likes of Burnley and Brighton.

I wonder what cowardly tactics we'll see at home to the mighty Aston Villa at the weekend.
