League is very weak
Yeah and he turned them down. I wonder why....
Weird because his track record is poor. Unless he’s been given a pay rise by the Chinese since winning the league and Everton can’t match that money - massively doubtful though.

Or he could have a gig back home in Portugal lined up, or a bigger Chinese club.

What’s this steady hand bullshit? The last thing we need is someone steady.
The last thing we need is to be someone’s training wheels.

A steady hand means things won’t get worse and with the right recruitment and coaching we can improve our defense.

We don’t have the type of players that Poch or Allegri want and those coaches are not as good as Wenger was in working miracles. Do remember that Wenger wanted Ancelotti to replace him but Gazidis had to have the last laugh and brought in emery.

Periera? Not sure how his track record is poor. He won 2 titles in Portugal with nearly a 70% win percentage. Won more than 60% in Greece and Turkey (won a title in the former). Except for his ill-fated 20-game tenure at 1860 Munich, his record has been excellent. I can fully understand why he might want to line up a bigger job than Everton before leaving China. I'm skeptical of him being a strong candidate for Arsenal, but I think he might do better than Everton.

Half agree with both, but I think that we could really use someone like Wenger on the board (i.e. someone who actually cares) and I don't think that happens with the current lot in charge.

Oh, I think the board should be wiped clean of all but the owners. They're pretty much useless. Just a bunch of rich guys in ceremonial positions. I'd like to see some prominent former players on the board who could actually advise the Kroenkes and be of some use to the club executives.

We won't get Pereira. I'm not sure what these journalists get out of making up unproven claims that always end up being wrong.

He is a pretty good manager, but he won't be our number one target. Especially because he earns over £30M a year in China apparently, so for him to leave he'd have to be offered a similar fee.
