Let's hope he give us something different and improve our defense even tho won't be easy,

Reinventing VAR 😡
Don't know what to make of this transfer if there's an obligation to buy in the summer. His trajectory until now doesn't scream top quality, although we're nowhere near that, tbh.

Looking at one of his videos on YT I can see he's got some nice diagonals in him and is pretty clean in his tackles, but considering he's a 26 year old spanish CB who's coming from Brazil, there's no way to make any judgement on him, so we'd have to wait and see.

One thing's certain. He can't be worse than Mustafi, right? Right, guys?

Not sure why anyone would be against this. A no-risk, high-reward signing. If he craps out, Arsenal is out the £4 million loan fee. If he turns out to be as good as Tim Vickery has indicated, then making the loan permanent will be a bargain. He seems exactly the type of center back Arsenal needs. He just needs to be able to get it done at a higher level than he has previously (although apparently he had a really good game against Liverpool in the Club World Cup).

Will be interesting to see, once Mari is settled in, if Luiz sees some time in midfield.

Emery Gone, Telly Back On
Excited to see how/if it changes the dynamics of our buildup play on our left side now that we've a left footed CB.

Could also just mean that Arteta wants to be able to play with 3 at the back.

Anyhow, welcome. If he's at worst our 3rd best CB, then it's a decent signing.

So happy there's still some common sense with a few AM posters like you. Nobody, except maybe a few Brazilian AM members know anything about this guy and even they will have a hard time telling you what to expect now.

He has a good overall profile and is, like you said, a low risk high reward signing. I would've liked the same man with slightly more pace as that's a central trait for any modern CB to have, but you can't have everything for such a fee.
Also, if he's just got half as good positional awareness as BFG had, he'll do just fine with it.

I know this is dumb but he doesn’t look very CB-y does he...
Hope he delivers, we really need it. Our recent history with loans/CBs has been shocking. About time one went right
