I saw @Impact post what we needed in another thread and I couldn't agree more with these:
  • Left-footed centre-back to partner Saliba long-term
  • Specialist left-back to compete with/deputise for Tierney
  • Mobile and physical imposing starting holding midfielder
  • Dynamic third midfielder/#10 to replace Özil
  • Natural starting left-sided winger
My picks would be as follows:

Ake
Bernat
Brozovic
Ziyech
Grealish

Brozovic isn't a "Mobile and physical imposing starting holding midfielder" though.

Clear out to end all clear outs. A wish list partially of players we have been linked to and partially my own creation. We are looking at a 4th season without Champions League football so I have tried not to include any players who would cost over £35m except maybe Foden. He seems the only really unrealistic player on the list but he may well get fed up with the lack of minutes at City.

Out - Soares, Sokratis, Mustafi, Holding, Chambers, Mavropanos, Kolasinac, Ceballos, Mkhi, Özil, Laca, Auba

In - Matviyenko, Mira, Bogle, Foden, Hwang, Edouard, Benrahma

GK - Leno, Martinez
DL - Tierney, Saka
DC - Matviyenko, Mira
DC - Luiz, Saliba
DR - Bellerin, Bogle
DMC - Torreira, AMN
MC - Xhaka, Guendouzi
MC - Foden, Willock
FL - Hwang, Nelson
SC - Edouard, Martinelli, Nketiah
FR - Pepe, Benrahma

To keep an eye one no, to buy. I also believe that it is better to bet on these types of wonderkids than to buy any average player in the French or German league in the hope of succeeding or even Buendia's expecting he would be some type of Maradona when he very likely don't have the level expected to a TOP6 starter. At least there is more illusion.

I'm talking about Ihattaren, Cherki's, Camavinga's, Yan Couto's these type of players.

Gabriel Veron for example

but Holding’s hair transplant was painless
Koulibaiily - 70m (sell Mustafi, Holding and El Nenny for 40m) or Ake (50m)

Soares (free)

Dacoure - 40m (sell Xhaka)

Coutinho - 45m (sell Özil, Mkhi for 15m)

Zaha - 55m (sell Lacazette for 50m)

All the players bar Kouilibally are premier league proven.

Rather grealish over coutinho tbh.
Midfield 3 of grealish, Lucas and dacoure

I do like Grealish, but an in form Coutinho bangs goals in and is workd class - he was arguably the best player In the league at one stage. An in form Grealish is one of the leagues better players.

Think there's a quality gap.

think grealish has more hunger and works much harder and tracks back better which in the modern game everyone has to do even AM

Would sell both Lacazette and Aubameyang if there is a chance to get either Gabriel Jesus or Sane in the summer. Make one of them the MVP of the team.

I'm all for Sane but Gabriel Jesus is definitely a pass for me, never been impressed with him and have my doubts how he would get on at a team who create and dominate less.

I think that 3rd midfielder role is a very important buy. It also needs to be a player who can play 8 not just 10 as when Tierney comes back Arteta will probably want to go to a 433 or a 442 out of possession.

Grealish is the name most people want but you have to realise he has been playing left wing.

I put forward Ludovic Blas. 22 year old, left footed midfielder capable of playing as a 6, 8 and 10. I have been watching him quite a bit recently and he played very well vs PSG.

He can pass. When I say pass, I mean be incisive and spray it all over the pitch with a sweet left foot. He can dribble and he has end product. He knows how to arrive in the box and can finish also. He is also athletic not slow and cumbersome like all of our midfield options bar AMN.

Özil at 10 And Emery Out
How is he these days?

I remember him not being overly prolific at Dortmund but done well in Holland.

Sociedad these days if I'm not mistaken.
13+2 g/a in 27 appearances (10 starts) this season. It looks like he’s finally having his breakthrough season now that he’s starting more for Real Sociedad.
Did this the other day against Real Madrid

Dortmund have a €30m buy back clause apparently so he’ll probably end up there again. I think the PL might be 2-3 years too early for him atm but he’s definitely an exciting talent. Signed by Sven Mislintat from the Swedish league at 17 for Dortmund btw.

Feels like Grealish would be a huge statement signing. A sign of intent!

But given our financials maybe we will have to get a bit more creative.

Golovin or Szoboszlai. Maybe Zaniolo?

Maddison would be perfect as a creative 8 or a 10, better than Grealish imo that is more a wide player, playmaker and ball-carrier, LW. I also think Maddison needs to reach some level that Grealish don't really intend to. I feel like Maddison would be more committed. I just don't know if James would be interested in Arsenal.

I agree, but that's precisely the reason I want him. Him at LW with another creative CM brought in would be tremendous.

Yes, but if I had to choose one only player to buy then I think Arsenal needs more James Maddison than Jack Grealish. But I'm OK with Grealish + Brandt/Ruiz types of player too. :)

Being honest, due to Arsenal's condition, either would already be a dream.
