League is very weak
Replicate those bland stats? Why would anyone care? The only thing that stands out is he somehow managed to conjur up the bollocks to have a shot and hit the woodwork
Replicate the motm performance in a victory hopefully, I meant. What’s wrong with that? Without it we probably don’t win.

Let’s see who will replicate the above today.
One good game and then three horrible games....how often do we get good stats from him? I have already mentioned how inconsistent he is, I don’t need to explain in detail here.

And more importantly, he is sacrificing the team stats for his own stats. He never involved much in the build up phase hurting our team from creating more overload/possession/chances/to progress the ball up the pitch. Good final third player, shxt footballer.

No one care about his stats. He can be invisible for 90 mins helping the team for nothing and then making an assist. That will be counted as a stats.

He is being criticised for not helping the team. You can have someone like Cazorla/Fabregas in the team, even if they score no goals/make no assist. They will still be better players because they make their team plays better. They help their team to build up and progress the ball up the pitch.

Özil is a tactical liability and hurt the team in the build up phase, which reduced our chances bringing the ball to the final third.

Unlike most # 10, he rarely helps the team in general play, that hurts our team stats, as we would create less chances for the forward if we always failed to get the team arriving to the final third because of him not contributing.

And this is the same reason why many of us criticise Özil for not making our team better.

If our team is not controlling the match, sub-in Özil will not help, as he won’t make our midfield function better. He wouldn’t be the extra man that provide passing options, create spaces, dribble past players that will let our midfield to take more control.

Sub-in Cazorla would help, our midfield will link up better, have more possession, create gaps in opponent shape, which will create more chances for the attacking players eventually.

Özil might get better player stats as he operates in final third. But what is the point if he is not helping the team to boost the team stats? (his absence in general play lead to our other attackers having less of their individual stats)

That was a team performance.

We lost the EL Final last year and you and your mates we're blaming Auba and Laca. But the 2017 FA cup final where the whole team put up a magnificent performance was attributed to Özil. Why?
Özil wasn't really that monstrous in that 2017 final. We were just a better team than Chelsea.

Besides, Alexis was the MOTM

What mates? I blamed Emery and called for him to be sacked.

'Hit the woodwork'

Özil fans even praise him for missing a gilt-edged chance
All one can do is shake ones head and laugh. That MÖS **** is just so pathetic it is unreal. The guy is done and on vacation in Turkey. It would be a blessing to the club if he stayed there. Cannot happen soon enough. I still haven’t fully given up hope we can offload him somehow. It will sting as we will have to pay to cover his wages but there has to be someone stupid enough somewhere to take this guy on. At least they will get a fan following that will buy their jerseys with his name on them and drool over old stats.

but Holding’s hair transplant was painless
It's because of 5G. Özil is infallible and deserves his break and 14 day quarantine.

Used to be a fan, but some with him now.

Well at least we can probably all agree on the fact that he's well and truly done at Arsenal, whether he goes this year or not.

Gotta respect his hustle for appearing as uninterested as he can. Takes effort.

How do you know that he is uninterested? Remember, this is a one-sided story that Arteta has fed to the fans. A story that has changed multiple times. From tacticak to lacking fitness to not being committed in training to back injury to tactical again. All the while Özil has trained with the team and hasn't said anything negative about Arteta or the club. So by all accounts, this is not a footballing issue, its more to do with the politicking happening upstairs.

Its very likely Arteta told him to take an early vacation as he won't feature no matter what. So what is he supposed to do? Just hang outside Emirates with a boom box held high with both hands waiting for Arteta to look at him?

If a manager has told a player he's not getting into the team at any cost and he will only train players he will be picking from and there's no more soccer to be played after Sunday anyway, it doesn't make a difference if the player is sitting at home in London or Turkey.

Özil is done at Arsenal. And its not his choice.

It's bad PR, for the club and for the player. But fair point otherwise.

I like Özil & no one will stop me but I can see he hs had his time now, he's staying for whole of next season aswell apparently, I'd be surprised even if he gets a go 20/21 season even if he stays.

Interesting decision to make for him. Continue doing the nonsense he is doing this season and earn the fat paycheck without getting game time but lose any chance of getting contract from any team after that. Or move on to a different club taking a pay cut so that he could play for more years. If he takes option 1, it would destroy any bit of respect left for him among fans.

Surely a loan option would be available for him somewhere? No one in this life is going to pay him what we do but might be willing to pay a percentage.
