As long as it’s genuinely what arteta wants and they aren’t lying then it’s all good. Burning sage to keep the bad energy from the club as we speak !

Anyone think Ziyech won’t outstrip Willian next season in terms of stats? I don’t think it’ll be close even.
Very hard to call.

Ziyech has a wand of a left peg and could just become a magician but the adaptation to the PL, his (relative) lack of athleticism and the competition for places at Chelsea suggest to me that it may be a while before we see him at his best.

He's the sort of half-forward we seem to play with nowadays.

Someone to mentor Saka, Martinelli and Nelson.

Martinelli is injured till the end of the calendar year most likely so I dont think this signing means Nelson is off on loan at least not till January

Oh is he? I thought they hadn't put a date on his return. Either way that's still 4 players ahead of him in the pecking order. I personally think he needs to be playing regular PL football, I can't see him getting many minutes at Arsenal next season.

In the long run, Saka/Martinelli only 18 and Pepe 25, so I cant see him ever being a first 11 player at Arsenal. With that in mind, I think the club should look to sell him tbh. Same goes with Willock.

Fair enough. You won't hear a complaint from me again provided the above is true.

Willian positives:

+ Won't be a passenger technically, can actually play football
+ Winning experience
+ Gives us depth on both wings and potentially in attacking midfield
+ Another set piece specialist to add to our ranks
+ One of Chelsea's best players this season
+ Should really be able to give us at least one good season
+ A top 4 level player for cheaper than any other option we could get really

My question is are they offering arteta Willian and he just says yes/no? Cos that’s what I think is happening

To get back into the top 4. I told you, it’s a process. We’ve just won a massive pot with a band of bums. We’re ahead
That's on the coach. Not convinced Raul and Edu are up to his standard.

Arteta will get us top four next season, with Coutinho and Willian in the PFA team of the year.

Not saying Willian is a bad player, far from it. But we need those wages for a quality CM and a CB . . . and maybe to keep Auba.

So Ornstein has confirmed that Arteta wants the player, and that clubs such as City/United were also interested in him? That's good enough for me.

I can see similarities between this signing and Milner to Liverpool.

This right here.

There would be posts about me on my clubs forum "had all the the talent in the world, just didn't want it enough".
Imagine that though... Imagine the diseases you would have if you earned that much money at 18. You’d have to build an STD clinic in your house and a rehab next door to that. Having said that, if you lead the sort of life that meant you were a top football talent at 18, you should really have the discipline. Resisting temptation after that comes down to good parenting, respect and pride.

It’s not an either or situation so why paint it that way? Do you really think they’d sign Willian if it meant they couldn’t extend Auba or sign Partey? They’re probably signing him because it allows them to do exactly that.

Nothing Wrong With Me
Just spoke to a Chelsea fan I work with. He laughed when we got Luiz, he's not laughing about Willian, he said he was their best player this season. I would say he was one of their best, maybe their best since the restart.
