What makes an Arsenal player a club legend?

Why do people recoil at the mere mention of Ramsey? No one's out here suggesting he was a GOAT midfielder, but he's a club legend and a very good player with a skill set not wholly dissimilar to Aouar's, both being attacking 8's. They're not identical obviously, but fine let's just compare Aouar to Iniesta all the time instead. Man Arsenal fans are so weird sometimes.

Ramsey is legendary for having a decent full career at Arsenal and overachieving, despite being a fairly mediocre player.

Club legend? No way.

Ramsey started off at the club doing the basics right, kept his game simple, looked like he would delvelop into a well rounded box to box midfielder. Had a 3 month purple patch of world class performances and got injured and wasnt the same player.

Ramsey in his return couldnt even do the basics right, turned over possesion constanly very cheaply , had poor positioning defensively and opponents used to go past him with ease.

Ramsey developed into an extremely limited player whose game invovled entirely around his movment off the ball in attacking movements and his goal scoring with nothing else to his game. Considering Ramsey got the same amount of league goals as Xhaka in his last season with us and that Willock out scored him last season in all competitions. Ramsey has proven to be a poormans welsh Kevin Nolan. Ramsey is fifth choice cm at Juventus for a reason.

I personally find it super cute how nothing riles up an AM member more than merely suggesting that the club's highest scoring midfielder and three-time FA Cup winner who now plays for Juventus might in fact be a competent footballer. Super cute.
Mustafi is a world up winner who has almost 100 appearances for Arsenal, with 7 goals, and 20 caps for Germany, with 2 goals.

He was a good footballer, not good enough first touch to be a CM, irresponsible in defense again which made him a poor CM. Scored some extremely important goals. Don't miss him and wouldn't work in our current set up.

That's about it. Don't see anything of him in Aouar

Where this Ramsey is arsenal highest scoring midfielder coming from? These people forgetting Merson and Brady?

I'm pretty sure AM would have found a way to have an agenda against Brady and Merse if it had been around back then.

I don't get how a different opinion or idea is having an agenda. Don't expect for your favorites to always get praised because there are always different opinions, after all this is a forum.

Ramsey has 3 FA Cup winners medals with this club, soring the winner in 2 finals...the only reason he wouldn't be considered a legend here, is because we have had some of the absolute greatest players in the game play for this club and achieve some ridiculous things here...it's through no fault of his own, he just happened to play for a team with a bar set super high.

I have said it before...if Aaron played for Sp**s and achieved there what he did here, he would be their best ever player since colour TVs became the norm.

Whether you think Ramsey is a legend or isn't a legend, it doesn't really matter...but he was a key part of our most successful era since the stadium move, think that deserves some respect.

Back to Aouar, it will definitely happen imo.

Forget Ramsey, Yaya Sanogo would be a Tottenham club legend if he achieved there what he achieved here.

You guys are just proving my point. Can't mention Ramsey on this forum without people throwing a hissy fit. It's super weird.
Can’t call him a club legend and not expect a reaction ffs.

He would be for a smaller club. Legendary story tbh, got his leg ruined as a kid, almost ended his career, got healthy, battled injuries for the rest of his career, won 3 FA cups (GWG in 2). Deserves to be cashing in at Juve now racking up some honours while doing nothing. :D
