Remember the rule last season where any goal is ruled out if it touched a hand (inadvertent or not) in the build up. It was a rule that only took goals away and never added them.

It’s not a surprise they’ve come up with an equivalent that adds goals.
No wonder number of goals scored this season is at an all-time high

This handball rule doesn't bode well with how we want to play against other big clubs at the moment. Basically gives them massive advances.

It doesn't bode well how we play even against the small teams. At least a big chunk of the game we surrender control and sit back. With this rule it actually gives you even more incentive to try to take the game to the opposition. Spend enough time around their penalty area and you are almost guaranteed a penalty a game.

Sooo many pens this season. And we're only a couple of weeks in.

Leicester score via a pen.

He got fouled tbf. Think it was Joelinton but you can see him getting pushed in the replay.

Major trouble now. As soon as he went off they looked lost.
On sky when asked he said Son wasn’t injured and just made the change because of the fixtures coming up

Spot on from bruce.
A Sp**s' fan reaction to this on the Sp**s forum :lol:

Easy for Bruce to be gracious as they gained from it. What would have been a bigger statement would be telling his forward to miss the pen on purpose. Managers doing that shows the premiership and refs they are wrong. Will never happen though.

Their fans on the Sp**s forum seem to think he'll be back by November at the earliest.

I think it’s just an anomaly so far tbf.

Of all the penalties given so far, most haven’t even involved VAR and only the ones in the Palace v United game, Sp**s v Southampton, Sp**s vs Newcastle and Everton vs Palace are ones that wouldn’t have counted last year.

A lot of them have genuinely been clear as day.

Son must be injured. Mourinho never rests his important players in any meaningful game. I believe Son so far played almost every minute in every game Sp**s played this season. If mourinho didn't rest him against Macedonian farmers hard to imagine he would rest him at halftime in a league game.

I am sure Mourinho said Son was injured. It was during a rant about the fixture congestion.
