That he doesn't offer as much as Abraham does anymore? Abraham is fast, strong, decent in the air, good hold up play and has excellent movement. I think he's pretty underrated given what an excellent season he had goals wise last year.

When you think about it, Werner is a pretty pointless signing. Lampard rarely plays 2 up front, Werner can't play on his own and he's not great as a winger either. It's almost like they signed him simply because they could.

Abraham isn't the finished article yet but I'd say he contributes just as much if not more than Giroud currently. There's times in certain games where Giroud is pretty much useless, whereas Abraham still has his pace as an asset in games where Giroud wouldnt be effective at all.

I don't think he will last there once Chelsea get a manager. He will end up at Palace/West Ham, which is about his level.

Giroud offers hold up and link up play. It's very effective in the modern game. Chelsea's good run post lockdown last season came off the back of Giroud's hard work.

In fairness he's a solid 7/10. He's not Robertson, Davies or probably even Tierney level.
Werner should take this just to get a goal..
