Let me take this one.

Lyon need cash, 3 assets they have interest for.
1. Depay from Barca, but they need to move Dembele to United first and United are clearly spending their money elsewhere.
2. Jeff from Hertha, Lyon had an agreement with Hertha but player doesn’t want to move there + they just signed Guendouzi.
3. Aouar from Arsenal, multiple bids rejected.

Now the first 2 options are clearly dead in the water, which only leaves Arsenal who clearly wanted Aouar as first option.
