Yes great result, love losing 1-0 instead of 6-0, shows us how far we've come! We played a 75% man city, with the hand-brake on all game with no1 bothering to go forward until they scored.
Lot of fans would prefer to only lose 1-0 and finish 8th, than lose 6-1 and finish in the top 4. It's all about humiliation and male psychology. :lol:

Pepe needs to go in the bin ffs.

He’s provided around the same amount of threat as Alex Iwobi yet he used to get butchered on here.

How dare you...

Our midfield we’re not forward looking, for most part, and that’s what Thomas Partey will bring. We were playing like we were playing a prime Man City, which isn’t the case. Our front line isn’t getting enough to work with.

Didn't expect anything from City and Liverpool away at the start of this season. On paper those are easily the two hardest games, period.

Problem I have with today is I can't tell if we were actually defensively solid or City are just a team in decline + lacking confidence + missing their best/most creative player and those in combination made our defensive job easier.

Attacking wise were pretty pitiful and have been for a while. We don't create enough chances. We've been getting results (some of the big results) because we're converting the 1-2 solitary chances we make a game. But when we miss those, like we did today, then we just end up with a blank. It's unsustainable to play like that, living off 1-2 chances a game and hoping we're insanely clinical.

You can say that about City too can’t you? They didn’t create many chances either but took their chance they were gifted.

To those that are saying a 1-0 loss is an improvement.

:rofl::rofl:

Leicester went up to Manchester and smashed City by 5 goals yet we think this is acceptable? **** mentality.

Leicester won’t smash us by 5 goals. Every game is different. Also, they got 3 penalties.

Very encouraging from the defence and midfield. Solid and assured on and off the ball. However from midfield going onwards we are stiff and lacking a spark bar Saka. We are assured from the back and as we progress into the opponents half we lack a spark and a player who can make it happen for the rest.

It is clear Auba and Pepe cannot be expected to create for themselves all the time. Maybe someone has to bring them into play too.

Add Partey to that midfield and we are very solid. But going forward we are stiff and lacking in invention. Hence we get too anxious when we create any chance or very frustrated with a miss simply because we know we will not be getting one anytime soon.

The lack in invention is a major cause for concern still. In terms of chances created after 5 games we are down at the bottom.

Disappointing performance against an over-rated team and disappointing to lose to a single, avoidable, goal.

I understand we needed to move on from those 6-0 thrashings but when you're 1-0 down with over an hour gone and have worked yourself into the game (possession and statwise) it's a shame not to kick on and give yourself a chance to get something. At that point it's better to take some risks, 2-0 is not much worse than 1-0, but 1-1 is infinitely better.
