Does this mean Arsenal social media won’t highlight Özil anymore? Cringe stuff coming up. All the best #M10
What?Top players go to war with clubs rather than leaving to play football.
This is probably it.Or once the financial impact of covid lockdown was felt, Arsenal decided that the extra commercial revenue from China cannot be ignored and decided to axe him so that the financial losses could be somewhat compensated for.
Bac backing the beef... I think?
I think it’s not a simple thing. Something has happened - so Arsenal say we freeze him out, and Özil in return says “ill stay here and collect my money”. He’s not going to back down.
The way football is going at the moment it's quick counter-pressing, quick transitions and everybody plays the same. It's kicked out players like Özil.
What did you want Wenger or Emery to do? Once he’s got that contract he’s not leaving. Just like Auba, Willian, Mari or Cedric now. If they don’t pay off, they aren’t leaving either, and I’m sure Willian, Mari or Cedric are not paying off. It's a simple thing: Wenger himself already explained what that happened to Özil:
There's no room in modern football for a player like Özil. The question we should be asking never was why we froze out Özil, it's why Wenger and Emery left a mess like Özil for Arteta to clean up. Why it took so long for the club to admit we need to move away from using players like Özil.
Emery froze out Özil for a few months as well. I've seen a lot of people forget about that, as if this whole thing started after lockdown. Özil's position had been weakening since Emery's 1st season. It's a simple thing: Wenger himself already explained what that happened to Özil:

Wenger's admitted that replacing Özil would be expensive (about £100m I think) but the extension is on Gazidis. Wenger didn't want to resign him at the price Gazidis negotiated. He would have gambled without him. It's a simple thing: Wenger himself already explained what that happened to Özil:

I genuinely believe he does not have much of a say.Do people really believe Arteta is behind this?:rofl:
Seems more and more likely this has to do with his comments on China and the Uyhgurs. Of course, people will point out that Özil is friends with Erdogan.
But people's heart can be in the right place and still have bad or even terrible politics. It's no excuse, but I'd say that's true for most people, otherwise we'd have socialism by now. I won't be saying anything further on this.
