We got giddy because we had a proper goal-scorer for the first time since Van Persie. In reality Auba is probably a level below Son or Kane purely because of his limited he is as a footballer. That said he's world class at what he does and we wouldn't have gotten better.

I was against the new contract at the price being mentioned. Long time believer that he’s not half as good as people think. As you said, limited player but good at what he does, what he does has never been enough for us to finish top 4.

Once again the club showing they learnt nothing from the Özil disaster. Handing out ridiculous contracts to players in their twilight years.

No one on here has a clue about football tho. At the end of the day Mourinho got the players he wanted and Sp**s are no so strong that they've got two senior players in every position, that's how you build a squad.

Longevity is hard, most teams have a 3-4 year cycle.. To renew, keep the motivation/desire up and compete is not an easy task.. Pep's methods and demands especially seems to have a short window.

Chelsea and Sp**s are way ahead of us. We will be lucky to finish 6th. Really need to do well in the Europa.

We don’t have the firepower or creativity to finish top 4 this season. I reckon we’ve got a decent shot at 5th though and are moving in the right direction.

Need to keep backing Arteta and pick up some proper attacking talent.
