Now should be his time, an almost now or perhaps never with him. He should get a run of games now & let's see if we can really get that talent out of him that we know is there. At least then we will know either way.

I feel something is going on with Reiss, he was unusually confident on the ball against Leeds, so much that I've had a feeling he was having fun with the ball at his feet.
I don't expect goals/assists yet, but I'm hoping he can give us that confidence on the ball, something this team is desperate for. Wouldn't be against the idea that he moves to number 10 for now as he is the most technical player, with Saka and Willian on the wings. Pepe's red card is his chance

I was thinking about it for a bit, is it a coincidence that none of our players can't beat the first man, or are they targeting the near post?
Don't think so they just don't kick the ball well they all kick it with power that it they should kick under the ball with little that's will be perfect height and will drop in middle of box. We hired a set piece specialist he should no better and already notice that in training

His newfound swagger was prevalent from the Dandalk match. He has to be used more often by Arteta.

Nelson should be dropped unless he showed that he is capable to do this in training:

Some people keep claiming that he was a skillful player at youth level.

I just don’t see it. It’s like as if his grandfather’s last will goes “reiss, stop doing skill moves.” And since then, he became a shxt player.

We were heavily linked with him in the summer and I didn't even believe it cause of his age and injury record - then I see he's back at Bayern.

Now that Willian is here though it does make sense now, I am confident he was on our list.

I want him to succeed but if he can't take advantage of our situation on the wings maybe he's just not good enough. At least he doesn't look as hopeless as Nketiah yet I guess.

I think most of our corners this season have been targeting the near post. It certainly looks like an instruction.

Surely we can't be so bad that we can't even take proper corners.

Can’t be a coincidence, too many of are corners with different personnel is exactly like this.

I am fairly certain it’s something to do with the set piece coach we brought in and something we’re working on.

Funny enough, we’re yet to concede from a set piece this season, so it’s definitely working on one end but dire on the other. Story of our season so far really.

Anyone knows who’s in charge of the set pieces coaching in the England national team?

They score almost all of their goals from set pieces. As I can remembered, 10 set pieces goal, 2 deflection fluke goals, and only 1 proper goal in the World Cup.

They are a shxt team in terms of skills and techniques, that’s why they can’t break down opponent from open play. They will never be able to make beautiful passes and walk the ball into the net like Spain or have individual skills like Brazil. Never going to see a n entertaining goal from England, they are just so boring.

However, how they approach set pieces is definitely something we could learn from.

He simply needs more regular football. I’d argue he has more natural ability than Mason Mount but the latter played every week at Derby and his reading of the game improved exponentially.

Saka got to where he is football IQ wise by getting consistent minutes on the pitch, albeit at left back. Arteta wants instant results though.

Learning the game while being used as a stop gap for injuries and cup games will always give mixed success.

If that the case then why nobody is close to near post? Most of our players in the middle of the box

Costa played in Ukraine until he was like 25. You took a compilation of a player in his prime (25-30) and use that as a comparison with a player who is just starting to get some minutes on a big stage.
At the same age, Costa was scoring 5 goals a season in Ukraine :D

Absolute poverty of a post

People underestimate what not having a Willian in front of you does for a young player in the long term.

Easier to do away from the Premiership for sure though. There is no Mason Mount or Tammy if Chelsea were allowed to spend last season for example, they would be eyeing up January window for loan moves like our lot.

It’s not about goals. Ronaldinho can be the best contributor in the team even if he scored no goals/make no assist for a whole season.

Nelson is young and he may improve in the future. But he is not heading to a right direction right now. As if he chooses to play like walcott (shxt) when he is capable to be more Ronaldinho. He has to realise that the playing style of the younger him (a skilful style) is better than what he is now trying to become (play simple football).

Totally agree with that, there is a number of things that can make a difference for a talented player. Transfers are clearly one of those, although Nelson is safe from that perspective, I think ESR is in big danger if we buy an attacking midfielder.

Nelson, so far, has been lucky I think. Pepe not performing, Willian being an older player, and Saka providing an example that everything is possible if given a proper chance. This is his chance I think, he needs to take it the way Saka did. It's now or never for him at Arsenal.

We can't tell where he is heading. I don't want to compare him to any player before I see him properly, and by that I mean 5-10 consecutive starts. Everything else is a guessing game, but Costa didn't do any better at the same age.

That's a question that both of us should ponder over because even when you look back at Pepe's corners early in the season when he was getting minutes, you'll see that kind of delivery with no one attacking the near post.
