A club doesn't negotiate and sniff for months only to find out he doesn't want to come last minute. If the players wants to come is the very first thing you'd want to know when you identify a target.

Well it's going back a bit but there was that summer Moyes chased Fabregas all summer and Wenger in a press conference said 'to my knowledge he isn't moving this summer' sounding like he knew it for a fact. Our manager and our sporting director are newbies so they might not have got any type of okay from the agent or player and just went for him.
Having said all that journalists don't really know that much and he could be coming or we could of moved onto other targets
