happy with the smaller nimble striker... the last 9 months the Athletic + Ory really had been pushing the idea of a big guy with Tammy, Vlahovic, Isak, Calvert-Lewin

can see most managers being happy with Jesus going forward be it upfront or wider

By November he'll show why City were right to go for Haaland. He's a striker who rarely scores & when he does bag a brace or hattrick it's against the weaker teams which helps him pad his numbers.

He'll be even worse because Tets ruins strikers. Look at his number prior to his arrival! Jesus, whilst terrible now, will get even worse numbers working with Arteta to rival the best defensive striker in existence, Dirk Kuyt.

This is my fear. Not sold on Jesus at all.

Scores in patches for an unbelievable City side with the likes of KDB, Bernardo, Cancelo feeding him chances. How would he fair under a defensive coach, playing dull rigid football?

We’ll be lucky if he got 10-15 goals. He’s not the answer.

Exactly what we need here since we struggle against opponents we should be beating

Very good player, but if were signing him we really need to sort out the midfield as well. He wont be able to do much by himself with long balls being played on to the wing.

Gabi J is able to show his quality at Man City because they can actually press the opponent high up the pitch. We on the other hand weren't able to leave our own half against Newcastle. Doubt he wants to come and play struggleball for Mikel, unless the midfield gets a huge boost in quality.

In my opinion 10-15 goals is fine as long as the rest of the forward line also get those sort of numbers and the backup players chip in with a few.

Take Sp**s as an example. They are 4th highest scorers in the division and their forwards have 45 goals between them, Son 21, Kane 16, Bergwijn 3, Kulusevski 3, Moura 2

If Jesus, Saka and a new left sided forward/striker depending on where Jesus plays all hit 10-15 each and then Martinelli, ESR and Ødegaard all get 3-5 then that's between 39-55 goals.

The trouble with the Sp**s model is that if one of Son or Kane gets injured or as we saw early in the season Kane was bang out of form they struggle badly.

Prime Auba won the golden boot and was runner up by one goal and yet we finished outside the top 4 on both occasions. Give me fewer goals spread round a greater number of players any day.

You're missing my point. He won't do it reliably every week.

What's the point in making him the marquee signing for such low gains when our finite resources can be spent elsewhere?

Would be disappointed if he came here & played as a 9 for the majority of the season. Would be very pleased if he's coming to be 1st choice LF

Anyone in here complaining about the fee should understand that paying 50m for a TOWIE reject was not just seen by us but everyone in football. Nobody is going to give up quality players for peanuts when they know we'll pay big for crap.

We are not a world class club anymore so we should be more then happy if we might end up getting Jesus tbf. Its not like we are an very interesting option to go trophy wise but we are still a big name.
