Just by looking at the value ratings of the players named here, I can tell you right now that this stat is fecking useless.
Wouldn't say useless. Clearly many of these players are good at ball carries and building good chances from them.

For example Raphinha tops Leeds just like expected.

Means nothing. Tells you nothing in terms of player comparison.

It's explained here. Kroos in this list is pretty interesting, but he does to those small dribbles and surely can have good xA.

Everything based on stats can be misleading, but also helpful if understood what they mean.

Messi's every season is in this list from that time frame. Ronaldo isn't at all, which isn't surprising when we know the players and how much better Messi is carrying the ball and creating chances compared to Ronaldo in his later years.

Raphina should do like his idol Henry imo.

Earn the big bucks at Arsenal for next 5 years, go unbeaten through the season and then spend his retirement years at Barca.

If he's as desperate to go to Barca as he appears to be, just move on. It's not the end of the world.

Not every potential Arsenal signing needs to have a burning desire to play for the us, but when you're pretty clearly 3rd in a 3 horse race for a player, read the room and move on to other targets.

Not like the guy is a world beater as it stands anyway.

Gnabry has to be the most overrated player on the planet.
What absolute nonsense. Easy to tell someone with an agenda (would bet a lot that you minimised Gnabry's departure and this is part of that agenda).

In what world is Gnabry overrated?

Please inform yourself before you make such statements.

In his last three seasons in the Bundesliga he is in the 92nd, 98th, and 98th percentile for npxG+A/90. 92nd in his so called down-season, though that was paired with a 0.85 npxG+A/90 in CL, a surely 99th percentile total when you compare it to other wingers.

In the two seasons before he had 0.64 and 0.68, compare to Sadio Mané with 0.72, 0.44 and 0.61, or Salah with 0.74, 0.49 and 0.62, or Mahrez or Sterling with 0.53, 0.59, 0.74, with Sterling's best 0.76, 0.48, and 1.26 edging his 3 year average thanks to that brilliant outlier 19-20 campaign.

When you compare him to his direct competition, two of the best attackers in the world, Sané comes out at .72 this season and .46 the season before, Musiala .19 and .10. In the league Sané was 97th percentile to Gnabry's 92nd this season, and 93rd to Gnabry's 98th last.

In short, just a ridiculous statement, Gnabry is bonafide one of the best wingers in the sport, he has dominated the Bundesliga in ways only the absolute best do (look at Coman for example, whose numbers absolutely pale in comparison to Gnabry's in the Bundesliga over their time there), and he has translated it to the CL with an extremely impressive level there too.

If anything Gnabry is underrated.

LMFAO agenda against Gnabry. Everything on this forum is an agenda.

Didn’t minimise his departure either, it was what it was, he didn’t want to extend and had an agreement with Bayern where he would join them later.

Didn’t read the rest of your post.

Typical attitude of posters like this.

Some objective measure challenges your pre-conceived views and ideas:

Option A--adjust views and ideas, nuancing them accordingly, attempting to understand the use of the measure and how it applies to the relevant discussion

Option B-- THAT MEASURE DON'T MEAN **** PAL, WHAT BOLLOX

...Option B always

Think I'd go straight into "if we get Gnabry instead of Raphinha, we have dont pretty much just as good whilst probably having one of the top 5 wingers in the world"

Granted, he might have some potential for losing motivation than some, from what I have experienced.

Yeah, hahah, and clearly if a person looks at that chart it tells good hints about the players regarding the stats concerned. The expected players are the best in this chart, at least mostly. But everything is black and white, either or for some people.

And the example of Messi having all his seasons in the chart, but Ronaldo zero, tells exactly what the stat is supposed to. So it is useful for comparing players.

Just seen Romano’s tweet about Chelsea trying to hijack the Richarlison deal. They’ve probably given up on Raphinha, or at least realized their chances of signing him now are slim to none.

Why though? Surely they’re the richest of the three interested.

he seems like the player Chelsea needed from the outset

its odd how Havertz now seen as the striker but not last summer when they pissed 100m on Lukaku

left it late now if Everton need cash by tonight

Think the player wants to be there and will force Leeds to accept Barca’s offer.
Raphinha was big part of why they stayed up, saving Leeds humongous amount of money with not relegating and 3 players leaving with a RC including himself.

It's an astonishing amount of money.

He deserves his dream move even if Leeds get a bit less money.
