There’s that nebulous term again…

This window headed south, fast.
If you think the term is nebulous, you just don't have a sufficient understanding of the tactics involved. Watch a Man City game and try to actually pay attention, maybe?

There’s got to be better players out there for that fee. He’s a midget ffs.
Transfer fees have lost all sense. Basically if you're not an English club and one comes in for your player you charge 2 or 3 times what you would charge another European club. They see it as a massive opportunity to fleece us to get some much needed revenue in

Imagine using that strategy in any other business

We have tried to sign him for a long time now and they refuse to change their minds. But sure, lets waste more time and energy on this guy, that sounds like a fvcking great idea.

Think we've got assurances from Lisandro's camp that he is eager to join us..otherwise it really doesn't make sense to waste time in competing with United for him.

Well Edu and Arteta are dumb ****s so don't trust them.

He will join the club that pay the money Ajax want.

Let’s follow your path and just yield under pressure in every negotiation, we are involved in. Sounds like a great plan professor…

Its pretty obvious now (for non-idiots) that they wont change their minds. So either we give them what they want or move on. This guy is not worth the effort any way.

Massive rebuild at Ajax, Haller, Gravenberch, Mazraoui and Onana already gone and Antony, Martinez and Tagliafico all heavily linked away.

Potentially 7 first XI players to replace this Summer but with close to £150m banked I'm sure they will find the next crop of hidden gems and still make a tidy profit.

don't know, they paid 30 mil for that absolute trash player from Sp**s. They look as dumb as Edu & Arteta to me

Vlahovic and his agent just didn't pick up the phone and it worked.

Couodnbe another such situation.

Yeah it's a very childlike simplistic way of dealing with things popular with people on the internet. Say we have around100m to spend?
What do you want for Martinez? Ajax er
80m Arsenal ok 🤣 later turns out they accept 30m less after we have 'moved on'

Say we are interested in tielemens. Leicester may want 40-45m we may budget to pay 20-30m.
Paying over 100m for those 2 players looks poor. Getting them for circa 75m looks decent & money saved may be invested in another position.

Nobody is giving us what we want for any of our players btw. Can't even get 13m for torreira or a reasonable bid on Pepe both decent players at their peak that we splurged nearly 100m on.

This club literally spent last window and this one paying what clubs ask for their players.

If we want someone enough we pay their price. Ramsdale, White, Gabriel Jesus all prove that. We seem to really want to get Lisandro over the line, so if paying 5m over our last bid is what it takes, the club will likely do that.

It's not a bad thing per se, as we've lost many a player before because of it.

I’ve never bought a player, but I’m trying to buy a house. made a reasonable offer some time ago but the owner is holding out for more. Can’t see anyone willing to match his asking price though - it’s just overpriced for the market and while all round it’s a good property it’s not really exceptional in any particular quality. Think I’ll hold out and save my self a few quid.

So, are we Manchester City? I think we should attempt to walk before we run. Are many teams playing the same or is this uniquely Manchester City?

Keep in mind that he will still need to defend wide. Then what?
